New study shows drones could be stressing out wildlife

I was just thinking of this yesterday when I was watching a video of a shoreline with many hundreds of sea lions and penguins. They looked stressed :( I don't even fly close to a horse barn that is local to my test field, out of consideration for the animals.

What's better... smaller & more or larger but fewer lipos?

Great discussion. I agree with all posters and will add that with more/smaller batts you can use them on your smaller beater drones too :)

    Drone Drones

I've noticed this as well. The word drone appears to be more and more related to aerial photography etc. Let's all drone on then! :) PS: Drone UAV ...

    Drone Drones

I dunno, this is one of the best mr forums around in my opinion. Not over run with trolls etc. Be careful of what we wish for.. Maybe a sleepy corner with mostly Pros ain't so bad ;)

    Sony α7R II announced

I've had my eye on this one for a while. But the $4600 Canadian dollars price tag then lenses... Ack! And batteries are like $65 CAD as well. And with insurance companies shying away from insuring multirotors... On the up side there will be glut of cheap used A7s out there soon ;)

    Phobotic CenterPiece Owners Thread.

Yes hard, completely rigid, mounting while tuning and PERFECT balance, especially on the yaw axis is absolutely required. For balance the camera must sit in any position you put it in even while moving the gimbal. If it sits there perfectly, and can be moved by blowing on it, or setting a dime...

    Flying after an underwater 'landing'

A good tip for drying out electronics is to put them in some uncooked rice. The rice will draw the moisture out and absorb it.

Canon 5D MKIII fpv feed freezing

Sounds like the 5D is coming out of live view mode after the photo? You'll only get video out while in live view.

Need help switching from 1-man to 2-man config with Taranis and Alexmos

That's great news PT. I have my second Taranis now and have switched my machine and gimbal over to X8R's. All tested for range and reliability. Over the next few days I'll get the module in and tackle that programming. Did you figure out your landing gear issue?

Z Camera, Micro Sized Micro 4/3 Camera on Kickstarter.com

Gentesled or whatever their name is has a remote that should interface with the Sony rx100 mk4 camera, so we could always start / stop recording remotely. I'm looking at this camera myself and thought that remote control would be a good workaround for the 5 min limit ;)

    Need camera reccomendations

All very good replies. I'm learning too. I didn't realize that we can get NEX's that cheap for instance. A very crashable price indeed! thanks for the tip Hexa. I'd like to toss out another option for a budding filmmaker would be the Black Magic Pocket Cinema Camera. OH and a revision to...
