Gimbal camera setup for a firewheel 450 frame.

Good advice from Cooter above. Nothing to add other than to perhaps get a little indoor $75 toy quad to practice on. You WILL crash a lot at first. Best to do that on cheap toys and simulators ;)

    off topic, tripods

PS: get one with a ball head and fluid damping for video. ;) I like the 501 head for midpriced

    off topic, tripods

I second the Manfrotto tripods. I have 3 and would never buy anything else. They have several models so there's one that'll fit your budget and needs. And they literally last lifetimes.

    Taranis X9D Global Issue?

It sounds like a date related firmware issue. Taranis version of Y2K? I too use Open Tx with no issues at all.

InfinityMR Universal high performance gimbal for GH4/A7S size cameras

I'd love to see some high speed sideways flying, car chase style. I've found that to be the best test of horizon holding. But I also think perfect horizon is elusive due to physics. The imu simply cannot differentiate between G forces and gravity. And encoders only know where the frame is, not...

Drone Crashes at US Open Tennis Tournament

. A quote from one of the players says it all: I hate to say this but I think outright bans are coming sooner than we'd like. .

    AVOID Hobby King!

I bought some batteries that never arrived. The tracking showed them as returned to HK... Even with tracking evidence it took about 3 months and a ton of emails and real time chat to get a refund. Bottom line it was through polite discourse on the website chat app that was effective. The...

    Tarot Retract Warning... THIN METAL!!

I was speaking in general terms, and perhaps a little sarcastically. ;) Internet sarcasm can be treacherous territory ;)

Need your ideas about what has caused crashes

I suspect the battery is simply running low. In both crashes the motors were running until it hit the ground. Father have you tested to see how much the batteries take to recharge? It should never be more than 80% of the total capacity. For instance a 5000mah batt should take about 4000ma to...

Chinese metallurgy combined with Chinese tolerances, not always the greatest combination. :)

    Sony a7R II

Envy! I keep thinking to myself that Canon would sell a ton more lenses if they were to follow Sigma et al and start offering different mounts as a stock option :)

    Intel 60 million into Yuneec

No argument there. I'd LOVE to see DJI get a good bum kicking! Im thinking the general public will probably have a short "fad" with drones though. Many companies are quick to tout the possibilities for use... But you and I know there's really not a lot of uses due to short flight times, poor...

    Intel 60 million into Yuneec

Interesting. Although, I honestly wonder if the market is large enough to support all these players. Personally I think not.. But time will tell.

Tarot 680 Pro integrated PDB failure - major smoke!

I generally avoid printed circuit boards altogether, preferring to make a harness or use solid copper to make a bus bar etc. The thickness of copper on most pcb's scares me. Not that I'm right on this by any means. Just throwing out another idea.
