    onemandrone.com, your personal hexacopter!

I told my daughter that I'd like to take her Chihuahua for a ride. Louie would sport a little leather pilots helmet and a scarf for protection, and would ride in the gimbal. For some reason she's not going for it.

Chroma heli's by Blade now include 6 mos warranty!

Oh good! I in fact didn't know. Lol To my eyes black makes for better viability. I'm pretty glad to see Blade in this game. I feel they have a better position to give the Dj's a run :)

I'm flying a set of Arris gear on my 810 and they've been great so far. Probably about 100 cycles. I have seen a couple of folks complaining but most were installation issues (no controller etc.) Oddly I went with Arris when I saw a bunch of complaints about the Tarot gears lol. But I think...

Study project about airbags for drones - thoughts?

I like the alarm idea a lot. With or without airbags or chute, a loud alarm would at least get people to look up and duck and cover! And it would be light weight.

Alta Price goes UP - A LOT.... $11,995.00 WHAT?!?!?!

Re FreeFly: I'm in the camp / theory that the additional $ is for support costs. Their recall earlier must have cost a bundle! Re Phobotic: Yes at this point CAN Bus is only for the IMU connection to make it robust. But the developer Roee has let us know there are some major breakthroughs...

Alta Price goes UP - A LOT.... $11,995.00 WHAT?!?!?!

100% agree on the CAN Bus. This is the reason our Phobotic Gimbal Controllers use CAN Bus. No issues with interference from motors etc. as with the AlexMos which is I2c. I'm pretty confident that Free Fly uses ported ALexMos software on their systems. I've been watching development of gimbal...

I am disappointed in one of our own members for his neglegent decision to fly over freeways.

Oh, very sorry Feng. I thought you were being sarcastic. My bad for sure. Sometimes it's difficult to interpret emotions on the www. Apologies for sure. :)

Good post Old Man. Risk management and professional conduct was kind of the point of my post on the previous page mentioning the Canadian requirement for our Special Flight Operations Certificates... and yet I get lampooned by a couple of members for it. Sigh At the very least everyone should...

I am disappointed in one of our own members for his neglegent decision to fly over freeways.

Here in Canada we are required to stay 9km (5 miles) from any "built up area" while flying, Unless we have a "Special Flight Operations Certificate" which you must apply for with a full flight plan etc. A "built up area" is considered anything bigger than a farmstead... If a SFOC is granted...

NY Post - Russians Buzz Macy's Parade with drone

Thus proving how easy it would be for any "foreigner" to "compromise" a large public event. Thankfully the payload was a camera. Lets see: He came in from another country,.. and flew a drone over a crowded event... A fine demonstration of homeland INsecurity... Guess he didn't fit the profile

    Props

An engineering mentor of mine used to say "you only pay for quality once". So true. That said, I usually keep a couple of sets of cheap ones around for emergency. And run the good ones on the machine. It's a lot cheaper than stocking the expensive ones that aren't getting use.

Thought so. I bought a couple of sets out of the first batch and they were (are) pretty darned good. But I imagine the QC slipped after that. Too bad
