Hello
To fill in the time gap until my zenmuse is repaired (and to possibly replace it) Im going to build a brushless unit.
Couple of really quick questions though..
1) There seem to be two styles of motor, disc and 'normal outrunner'

Hello
This is a known problem with a certain batch of WKMs. Please contact your dealer for replacement.

Thread on it above.
I had my IMU replaced and problem gone.
Hello all
Just thinking, could you not use a small quad just set to hover at say 400ft above you to act as a fpv relay to your main uav?
This would mean much greater LOS ranges without having to worry about stronger tx
anyone tried it?

So guys I'm going to attempt to fix this myself.
Here is a video of the problem

You will notice 2 things.
1) When it comes to a 'level' on calibration, its not level its about 20 degrees off in both roll and pitch.
2) its spins out of control in...
I am very tempted to just order a new encoder from farnell and give it a bash.
Does anyone have high level schematic for zenmuse?
And/or does anyone have a zen and a logic level analyser so I can check a couple of things against mine?
Na they aint stepper motors, brushless.
I might try knocking up a stepper motor solution to try, got a few high resolution ones kicking about. Advantage with them is lots of torque, but I doubt it will be that smooth.

Yeah tried that, I also disconnected the Encoder from the Roll axis, this prevents the roll spinning, so I suspect this is where one of the problems lie (if not the only one). Those encoders are pretty delicate and i think some grit got in there.
Thank you Geoff.
I've had a closer inspection this evening and it seem that it's the roll axis that has the problem. On power up it starts normal calibration (you think everything is ok), and the after about 5 seconds it just starts spinning faster and faster in roll.
