Puts on engineer's cap.. I like the theory of using the lid flanges as baffles to direct the flashover. How about this: drill 1/2" holes around the top of the box where they will be baffled by the lid flanges and THEN cover the holes with steel mesh as a flame arrestor. It is common practice...

I always run the Pixhawk on stock PIDs on all machines I build. No need to tweak at all. I've built 450 racers to large hexas which fly perfect right out of the box. Maybe there are more menus and pages of options and settings, but that comes with greater functionality. ;) You couldn't pay me...
