    Mikrokopter BL-Ctrl updating then dead

On the wiki, there are some pics of people using card edge connectors or even just 10 pin connectors that are wedged onto solder blobs on the pads. Two servo extension will work if you rewire them. Below is the MK II pinout and the BL-Ctrl pinout. Just match up the wires and make sure you...

    Mikrokopter Bad roll gyro

They are essentially using those 000 ceramic jumpers to help mount the gyro board to the main FC board as well as conduct signals. Those parts are not intended to be structural, they are made to be soldered to a circuit board on both sides. Look at the pic below of a good board. Do you see the...

    Props Balancing

I've also heard good things about the du-bro. And they can do props larger than 12"

    Props Balancing

They are highly trained! And NO, I do not have a video. :p

    Props Balancing

Naterpin: now I'm curious what do you use? I have balanced EPP1045 props to the point where a fruit fly can walk away from the hub and spin the prop. I think I could find 3 guys on RCG who have wrestled Godzilla. :p And two of them will swear they have a video of it. :)

    Cf/gps

GPS doesn't really matter. With CF you need to plant your feet in the same exact spot and fly in front of you. When CF is activated the stick become left, right, forward and backward no matter what the yaw of the MK is doing. Here's where you can screw up: If you were to then fly it over...

    Props Balancing

I use the balancer pictured. It works for me. There's not much that can go wrong with a gravity balancer as long as the prop is centered on the shaft and held properly. What props are you balancing?

    Cf/gps

I can't remember, is this the flight where it flew away over a subdivision and 'landed' next to a road by a field? Like Ken said if you were to accidentally turn on CF and not know it, then you could become very disoriented. But that's pilot error. The MK will fly fine with GPS and CF on at...

    Mikrokopter Bad roll gyro

Mr Ken, do you happen to have a picture of your fix?

    Mikrokopter Bad roll gyro

You'd be lucky to get a 12 second warranty from MK. If I'm not mistaken I think Holger did say he would repair these boards for free though. To fix you would need to desolder those 000 jumpers and toss them out. Then replace them with a piece of wire. Reflow the other existing solder joints...

    Mikrokopter Bad roll gyro

Ah the great 000 jumper coverup. When and where did you buy this board? See those little parts that say 000? You got a faulty board that MK so kindly pushed out to people some time last year. There were suppose to be large solder pads on the boards. Somehow they got left off and MK...

    Mikrokopter Bad roll gyro

Yes it happens. The gyro can loose connection to it's little carrier board or the carrier board can loose connection to the main FC. Please take a photo of the both sides of the FC board where the gyros are soldered. Some FC boards are known to have a defect.

Monto RC Hobby **Avroto** Motors Contest Giveaway!! Beyond the hover!

So let me get this straight, you have to land on the ground for each lap? You can't land in a bush or a tree that's 15 feet away or more? I'm not sure if I have a table that tall. Can my wife's car roof be substituted? :p Are prop changes included in the 2 minute limit? If so, I may...

    Mikrokopter BL-Ctrl updating then dead

I looked at the source and nothing jumped out at me. I don't know C or German so that's not unexpected. ;) There are some variables in main.h as I recall. Maybe try searching the .de forums for them being mentioned. I think I recall PWM variable changes being needed for some motors on the 2.0...

Any tricopter experts here - trimming problem :)

I suppose you could be knocking a gyro out of calibration. However I don't ever recall reading anything about that in all the KK and multiwii posts I have read. I know that some gyros actually have a matching internal gyro sensor to counteract the affects of acceleration. Maybe that has...

Any tricopter experts here - trimming problem :)

Pete, It's open source stuff that you are using. Tell your club friends to DIY or help them build. After all, 'getting there' should be half the fun. Right? :) I do agree that it does seem 'too far'. However with the same behavior on several different boards, that's the only thing I can...

Any tricopter experts here - trimming problem :)

Is it possible that the G forces are tweaking your airframe? Possibly the rear motor mount. I'm just guessing. Keep us informed when you find the problem.

Mikrokopter BL 2 Problem Not Reported in MKtool

I think #3 is acting up and choking the I2C bus. Desolder the C and D lines on #3 and see if the problem converts to just a missing #3. I don't know what kind of damage you may have done to the distribution board in your crashes. Another thing to try would be to bypass the I2C wiring on the...
