Yes it happens. The gyro can loose connection to it's little carrier board or the carrier board can loose connection to the main FC. Please take a photo of the both sides of the FC board where the gyros are soldered. Some FC boards are known to have a defect.

Is it possible that the G forces are tweaking your airframe? Possibly the rear motor mount. I'm just guessing. Keep us informed when you find the problem.
