    A2 Weirdness

It is extremely important that the red LED lights stop flashing altogether before you take-off! Red represents a failure to achieve a complete GPS satellite lock! Once they stop altogether you can take-off in Attitude or GPS mode. Also there may be no more LED flashes until you take off...

A2 and 900mhz data link, will it work?

I have the same question...... Maybe Tahoe Ed can answer this question...... my 900Mhz is still sitting in a box ready to use.... only tested it out for ground training with a WKM..... would like to use it on with the A2 now.

    What kind/brand are you using?

I buy large rolls of this material at a local Industrial fastener store called Calgary Fasteners and Tools. It is a 12 inch diameter roll and the gray double sided sticky tape with a layer or red vinyl separator to prevent it all from sticking together. Is is about 1/2 inch wide and it is cheap...

Your dream drone and handling existing limitations

KEY LIMITATIONS: 1) Battery energy density (capacity relative to weight) 2) Corresponding flight range and flight time limitations 3) SYSTEM RELIABILITY! - While we see smart phones and computers suddenly fail from time to time, the consequence of equivalent failure requiring a simple system...

    A2 Regret

Desktop PCs have a regulated 5 VDC power supply with lots of current to feed thru each USB port. Notebook computers have a very limited 5 VDC power supply source for feeding external USB devices..... external devices are expected to be externally powered. Part of the reason is that Notebook PCs...

DJI no longer supporting the 900mhz data link???

Considering that I never got to use my DJI 900Mhz Datalink system beyond ground level training........ that is quite a disappointment and it was a hefty price that was paid. Wonder if it can still be sold.....

    Octo?

Once you get the knack so as to do excellent soldering, you will never trust anyone else to do it for you...... and it is not that difficult....... but do the early practice soldering of items constrained to ground level. I started out a very long time ago soldering Heathkit semi-kits such as...

The ALL New DJI S900 Hexacopter!

I believe that the S900 uses both the AX150 for positive and the XT150 for negative terminal. So you have to order pairs of each then set aside one red XT150. I have some stock of both from the original manufacturer direct from China but have not used them yet. I bought them because the...

The ALL New DJI S900 Hexacopter!

Ronan, Glad to hear that. Likewise I also hear from my DJI dealer that sold me the A2 that he has not had any bad issues with his clients concerning A2 reliability and I have had about 18 to 20 test flights to date with no issues..... hoping that trend continues indefinitely.

How Do You Avoid Sparking During Battery Connection

Most of the sparking is caused by the capacitors.....so I agree with Bart. And the consequence of sparking over time is increased resistance at the connection point which leads to a voltage division condition. And that ultimately means that the voltage getting to the FC becomes suppressed...

    A2 GPS Module firmware 2.4

I hope you meant to say that the FC firmware is 2.4. But I have not seen any mention of 2.4 being released yet..... very strange.....!!

    Suggestions on motor/esc Testing???

You should also test with the motors under load, i.e., with the props on and the MR solidly tied down to something heavy.... some issues reveal themselves only when the motors are under load. BTW - you should provide all us with additional info as to the FC and firmware, RC transmitter used etc...

    Beware, Diesel-Electric Locomotives

It is, in fact the locomotive ASD or VFD that is the source of the emi of which a significant component is radio frequency interference. ASDs and VFDs are very similar to hobby level ESCs except that have full wave rectifiers on the front end since they are mostly powered by AC generators. emi...

P2 Water Damage - step by step repair guide?

Sorry you had to experience that. Fresh water is not that great an issue apparently...... but for salt water, it is highly conductive so that battery and electronics short circuit immediately. In addition rapid water electrolysis occurs such that the positive terminal produces massive amounts...

Possible Geomagnetic Storm In The Offing

According to HAM radio theory and some related Amateur radio magazine articles the GPS position accuracy is also dependent on atmospheric factors. Apparently changes to the upper atmosphere due to ionization resulting from solar storms affects each GPS satellite rf signal angle/and or speed...

    Understanding Lithium Polymer batteries

IMHO - I would avoid using an C rating below 35C for VTOL type aircraft...... and 12C is way too low. And here is why......see attached. http://www.maac.ca/docs/2013/lipo_batteriesinternal_resistance_max_current_draw_true_crating__rev3_toc.pdf
