I get my Xoar's from here: http://www.kopterworx.com/Xoar-props/View-all-products

Funny thing is on the Xoar web-page you don't find too many information about props in pairs (CW + CCW)....maybe they are "paired" as per special order from some dealers. To contact the listed dealers might help....

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
kloner,

i buy from bobshobbycenter.com, they're the US distributor. other people order direct from China but Bob's supplies most everyone else. Yuri may or may not be in love with his sets that I sent him. I may have enough extras in the basement that I can hook you up and we can get another order in.

the PJA props are for nitro engines and make a ton of lit while also being very light. THe PJN props are for electric motors but are too thin, imho, and the tips break easily.

i'll see what i have when i get home later.

One of our members got ahold of me last night and gave me a smoking deal on 5 sets of 12x5 so that gets me going. I want to set it up with 2 different pitches like bart recomended so i still need some 12x6 or 12x7 times 4

Bart - would you say that the PJA props produce more lift than the PJN's? I have a AD6 and I thought I figured everything out and the 12x5 PJN were gonna work good. Sometimes I guess you just gotta fly them. WHen I did they flew a Nex5n pretty good but with the added weight of the T2i they were not quite enough. Figured 13's were the answer, maybe I should try the nitro props if the elec were close? I figured the 13 PJN were the answer.

got 5 tractor, 5 pusher 12x5 electric........... I'm gonna be pretty light, like half the weights your flying at bart,,,,,, whats the best prop to match that on the bottom? say it is always 15-25mph winds and i want it to go as fast as possible........

looks like i'd need all tractor? Have the hoverflypro or cc3d to put on it

These props are not going to be the answer to wind, they might help a little but probably not. Bart, I cherish my box of Xoars so much I am afraid to put them on. After waiting this long to get them I feel I should balance them, reseal them and put them in my safe. But seriously I do all my testing with the APC's and i just havent had a chance to try them out. I'm also indecisive on wether I should pull all my balancing tape off of the hubs and just run them balanced horizontally only.

kloner, HFP is CW top/CCW bottom.

wonder if mixing oild and wa.... wait, electric and gas props matters? I got a hex also, so might need to use the ones from john on it, it'll be similar, same motors, weights.....

see the electrics in tractor here

If you want to go faster, I would try upping the pitch a bit. It would help for FFF i think. You probably will lose a bit of efficiency at hover though

when i picked up a set of props from himodel, i accidently got 1 pair of the electric and one regular pair, the set of electrics exploded on me in flight. the tips just came off after 3-4min of flight time.

I don't hover so talk to me what yo think would get this thing going. it has a motor like avroto 2814 times 8...... 1.4 kilo of battery, nex5, gopro and a simple tilt gimble... no idea of exact weights yet, but not alot for what it all is

i want fast as possible, but it has to be able to hold it's own doing it.....

So you will probably be 4.5-5kg ish maybe lighter. Hmm, it's really going to come down to testing, as is usually the case. For what you want to do, I would try 11x5 T, 11x7 B and then maybe up the pitch of each 1in if you don't go as fast as you want. 11in should have better response as well. Essentially the higher pitch acts as a higher gear would in a car. If you want freeway speeds or higher, a higher gear is needed. Most multirotor stuff (hovering, slow movements) equates to 1st gear in my opinion. When you are FFF, you rotors are tilted and the inflow velocity is more akin to what a plane would see (not entirely obviously)

Really a variable pitch prop would be nice ..

If i had some time, I could sit down and play with the numbers, but unfortunately my lunch isn't that long :)

I'll fly it in the 12x5 i got coming then find the right props from there....... sounds like this is close enough to hover and see where it's at, what it's like

right now i fly a quad with 2814 1000kv with 8x5 @ 2 kilo,,,,,,, it's really fast. I've never touched a 750kv motor so need some guidance... That explanation gives me some ideas.
