TBS Pro Motor Issue?

hi all,

when playing back some flight footage i shot a while back i noticed a weird sound and stutter coming from what i believe is possibly the motors (TBS 900kv)

you can hear (and see) the issue in this short clip:-

i have flown around 20 batteries since that clip was recorded and during every flight that issue happens at least once and lasts for around 5 - 10 seconds....the rest of the flight is completely normal

a member on another forum suggested it may be due to a cold solder joint so i completely stripped the Pro down, removed old solder and then re soldered everything but the issue is still there

I'm a little puzzled as i can't help but feel that if one of the motors or ESC's was faulty then the issue would happen all the time rather than just one short instance per flight?

the above clip was whilst flying in GPS mode (Naza Lite) but it also occurs when flying in ATTI mode too. ive not done much flying in manual mode yet so i can't say whether the issue occurs then or not unfortunately

my flying confidence has really taken a beating since this issue reared its ugly head as I'm now constantly paranoid that I'm going to lose my quad due to some kind of malfunction

in addition to redoing the soldering i have also run the motors without the props on to determine if i could see / hear anything wrong with them but they seem to be working perfectly....no weird sounds, no vibrations, no stutters etc etc

if anyone has any advice i would be very grateful :)

cheers

scott

i would expect this to be an esc issue.... have you sent in a support ticket with tbs? if not, do it.

Middle of the night there, give them a little time, they are usually very responsive. If you get no response jump onto FPV Lab and start a thread there. I know you have posted in the general area but post it in support.

yeah i noticed the support section about 2 seconds after i posted it in the general area... doh!

will give it a while to see if i get a response before posting it in the support section as i don't want to piss them off by posting the same thing all over the place, lol
