suppo motors and graupner prop adapters

I've had a few people get the suppo motors after suggesting them and wanted to show you guys how i do the shafts so these adapters are rock solid. It takes a dremel. You take a graupner air screw coupler and lay it up to the shaft and make a mark where the set screw goes, it is basically in the middle, but you want to remove as little as possible so the set screw hits the edge keeping it all in place. after cutting int he flat spots, i trim whatever it takes to get the coupler down onto the bell of the motor so theres no shaft showing. it's like 1/8" too long then i just sand the edge so they slide right into the coupler like they were before i started. other than this you have to solder on the bullets to the motor. I'll come back by later today to post how you do the arms so these fit to them.

the reason to do all this is if your running a dji motor with a graupner prop and want a direct replacement that is tripple the power, lifts 2800g and will do it with the props you have now, this is one way to get-r-done. the set of 4 delivred is right at $100

Sorry for awakening an old thread, but I have a question to it.

Whats the reason that you use air screw couplers with screw instead the ones with taper collet fixing? So far I felt that the collet types are more secure/ precise than the ones with screws. But I have to admit, I never used the ones with screws. So no expirience there.

In my theory: the collet gets tigther the more pressure is put on, so in my opinion it really matches the motor shaft exactly.
I m not sure how good the inner diameters of those air screw couplers are. I m afraid that there could be a gap. Allthough a really really small gap, it still could lead to an unbalanced prop mount.

The collets that come with the suppos are cheap aluminum and 2 out of the 4 I got were out of round, in fact one broke at the stud trying to clamp it down. The airscrews are a direct fit for the graupner props but they cost a bit to get them shipped. Personally, I won't do suppos anymore and will stick with motors that come with the bolt on prop adapters.

Not slamming the motors, just the prop collets. Are the hk's quality any good? I prefer the ipower type prop adapters just because it's one less thing for me to worry about (and if you see my builds and my flyin skills, I worry a lot) .

these are straighter than the graupner adapters

I prefer the shaft adapters over them bolt on ones. There simple to replace and easy enough to keep on hand.

After fitting a set of ipower i had one that was snug, still don;t think it seated right..... it was totaly dependant on the outer diameter of that motor part, right where a set screw for the motor is. i filed the motor a tad, sanded inside the adapter, wtf...... I'm gonna order a box of them now too, but i gotta buy the whole parts bag to get it. the cross mount, motor bolts, 4 bolts for the adapter and the adapter....

up until a month ago, this type is all i've had

there easy to keep the video looking like that
