Question...

My quad is flying (for the most part) very smoothly. The issue I'm having is that, when I "Dead Stick" the quad will rise to 50' - 60' in GPS mode, like it's supposed to, but if I switch to Atti, it will not just "hover where I leave it".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I dont know what dead stick means in this case, normally that means flying without power in a plane and gliding in. But I think you are activating hover failsafe somehow. Take a look under the fail safe options and it will say hover or return home. In hover mode it just hovers in place. other option is that you are in return to home but you havent flown far enough away from "home" to see it move other than climbing to its 20m height. it waits for 30 seconds before landing. Just a thought.

So, in GPS mode, how high exactly should it hover? I've seen videos in which, when the quad is "set" at a specific altitude (10') it will stay roughly at that height. If I'm in GPS mode, it will hover at 60' quite nicely, but not at any other height. During the entire duration of my flights, whether in GPS or Atti, I'm having to constantly manipulate the throttle to keep the quad's altitude at a constant. It's then difficult to manipulate the yaw input without unintentionally affecting the height.

I've noticed, that during my Rx calibration, the throttle never centers (or returns to center). Could this be part of the issue?

most likely. When you calibrate, try starting the pc to calibrate, roll all your sticks around exept when you stop, put the throttle stick at dead nutts middle. look for a monitor to see where 50% throttle is. leave the throttle there then hit finish

they should all four light up green
