Problem with Orange 7 channel RX and F450

I recently hooked up a new Orange 710 RX, to the Naza. When powering on, the receiver is dead, no lights, beeps or anything. The VU goes through it's cycle as expected. I connected the cables the same as I had them connected to the AR6100. It is impossible to put the cables in the RX upside down. My first thought is it is DOA, but given my recent ability to do thing backwards and upside down, it certainly could be me.

When I reconnected the AR6100, no problems.

Thoughts?

just make sure there right way up, on the side of the rx there is a "S" in the plastic that is the white, orange or yellow wire. stands for signal, brown should be opposite. on mine, the orange rx has orange wire up, on my 6100's it is brown wire up. if the plugs wont go in with proper alignment, unclip the orange/white/yellow and brown/black wires in your connector to make the signal wire in the right spot then put the ground in the right spot

if it's not bound, then bind it, lights should flash fast on it and sat then lock solid bound

I'm using an orange 6 channel receiver on my F450. The signal wire (the lightest colour) goes to the top (the top is where you can see the bind light).

The 7 channel orange, negative is top, positive middle, and signal at the bottom. That is the way I inserted the connectors. When inserting the connector, it slides into the slot, with the wires in the correct position. As I said, it is impossible to put the connectors in upside down, unless you modify the connector.

What I do find interesting on both my orange 6 channel and AR6100 receivers is that signal is on top, positive middle, and negative bottom. I wonder if someone put the polarity sticker upside down, as it looks like it was applied by hand.

I will modify the connectors so that I can insert the connector "upside down", and see if that works.

you just slide a xacto knife/needle, something really small that can get under the plastic tag into the little clip on the connector and slide the wire out........ then slide it back into the right orientation

if you dont see the s molded into the case, look again

We are saying same thing. When I plug the connector in, negative (brown) is at the top, positive (red) is in the middle, and signal (orange) is at the bottom. According to the polarity sticker on the side of the receiver, this is how it should be. The S is also at the bottom. According to the sticker, the s, and what you have posted, the wires are in the correct position.

plug it in with a bind plug and nothing happens, i'd guess doa. Is the sat dsm2? if you have a servo, might see if you can make work normal or heck, power it up with a bind plug and nothing but power going into it to see if it's really doa

How can I bind it if the lights don't come on? Do you have the 7 channel receiver?

i have there 7 and 9 channel rx's

i didn't say bind it, said to put the bind plug into the port and power it up, if nothing flashes your doa. if it does flash, bind it to the radio and keep going. the bind plug forces it to flash, unlike powering it up unbound which it will never flash without the bind plug or being bound and seeing the tx. the lights indicate the rx/tx see each other, not indicate the tx has power.

The first time I powered it up, I had the bind plug in it. No lights came on. Are the channels the same as the Spektrum Receivers?
1 - Battery
2 - Throttle
3 - Aileron
4- Elevator
5 - Rudder
6 - Gear
7 - Aux 1

mine are hooked up as ch1 is the throttle, no batt in front of it, any channel will provide power, in the case of the naza, the rx will get power from the naza passing it through the wires from naza to the rx.

on these, any open port will work to power it as long as positive is in the middle. if you have a bec or a battery for the rx and a servo to try, get every wire off it, and just double check that it's dead. dealing with them is a nightmare for stuff that's dead like this

Confirmed DOA. I jury rigged a battery pack from 4 AA batteries, and a spare connector. I plugged the battery pack into my AR6100 and my Orange 6 channel receiver, and the light came on for both. When I plugged it into the 7 channel nada. I guess I am out the $20, as we all know what it is to deal with HK on returns. First DOA from them. You put your money down, and take your chances.
