Power distribution for non MK ESC users

Hi to all I am finishing building a JkyJib 8 using 2 Herkules boards I need to power other components I would like to know if there is a only power distribution board that I could neatly connect a line from the llipos and be able to branch out.
also does any one have install pictures of the SWADJ3 25w switching regulator how did you guys connected it
thanks

The most reliable PDB is as simple wire manifold carefully soldered incorporating a switch. Board pads can easily lift with the loads of heavy duty wire and break the circuit. I have seen this a few times. A manifold can take up a lot less space.

Thanks DennyR by any chance do you have a picture or know where a picture may be in the forum or somewhere else
Thanks

Dji f550 pdb

I'm just getting started building a Droidworx AD-6 WKM next week and I was wondering the same thing. I have thought about using the PDB from a DJI F550. Have any of you guys done that? Anything I should know about that?

Im building my ad6 and have gotten voltaire boards from multi wii, i was going to go the power dist manifold route before but i decided to give these a shot, i will b splitting the load so 1 board has only 3 esc's to be safe it doesnt see excessive heat, if one day my hexa falls due to pdb failure its time for a custom harness...

You can power FC directly form Hercules Boards. There is a regulated 8 Volt output on the Hercules boards (needs some soldering). What FC do you have?

Hi the Lipo is providing the 2 Herkules direct power right trough the middle of the boards then power goes up to the FC trough the Molex connector then the Navi board gets its power trough one of the ribbon cables then another molex to the GPS. so all of the main electronics in the tower are powered the dilemma is where is the best, neat, clean, and easy to disconnect if needed place to connect the rest of smaller components like to power the PCB extension board or to branch out to the SWADJ3 25W switching regulator or any thing that need power, in the MK ESC world the power distribution is done by the board that joins all of the BL-Cntrl ESC's there are several points on the board to get power from but on Herkules or independent single ESC or maybe the Aerodrive I am not sure on the last one, there is no place on this boards to get power from, that is why I was thinking of a simple.... I guess.... board that allows power distribution...any thoughts
thanks

GUys this is rated for 60AMps continoyw..! do you reccomend to buy 2 for an octo HL???

I think one is not enough for octo..!

What is this obsession with Power Distribution Boards? If you can solder a wire to a PDB, then you can also solder one wire to another! Cheaper, lighter, more compact and capable of handling as much power as the wire can carry. What's the @%*& problem? Sheesh!

Yeah, I don't understand it either. Twelve gauge (common size for battery cable) wire is only meant to carry 20 amps. I think if guys were to run these 60-80 amps they seem to be getting with their builds, I fear the connector from the batt would melt before the pdb would fail. Just cuzz you put a bigger nozzle on the end of your hose doesn't mean you'll get more water from it.

Hey I was wondering if anyone has looked at the DJI F550 boards. I have an F550 pdb that im looking at using for my AD-6 WKM build next week.

If I understand you correctly, I think you may be mixing some things up. 12ga wire can carry 20amps @ 120V. The 60-80 amp setups you're referring to I assume are running between 12V and 16V.
watts =amps * volts
20*120=2400 > 80*16=1280
