You have to switch you output on GH2 to PAL... problem solved....boom!


... which is fine as long as you wish to conform to the 25 fps PAL standard. Are you Europe based? If you need to shoot 30 fps in order to conform to the US NTSC TV standard you will have to put up with the associated vagaries.

On a recent USA shoot the GH2 displayed all sorts of unusual behaviour including B+W on the monitor occasionally, popping randomly out of record if the cable remote was used and refusing to play back in-camera video files it had just shot. Coming back to France and selecting PAL returned everything to normal.

Unless the GH2 is set to record at 24 fps the act of connecting an HDMI cable will automatically switch the video record setting to a default 1080i50 if it is set to PAL or 1080i60 for NTSC. So the answer to your question regarding getting video output via the Z15 is, Yes.
