i received an email this morning from a person who may be a sponsor of our next contest. it has the potential to be big (as in, Oh my God!) and i thought i'd have some fun with it but the site isn't in a fun mood today it seems.
i'll only say that it will be a demanding and very competitive contest if it goes in the direction we are discussing. the reward will be commensurate with the task.

Oh man, Bart. Sorry to dampen your spirits today, my brain is overwhelmed by statistics at the moment. I tried calling back but got no answer. Another contest sounds great, hopefully the deadline will be after my defense on July 13th so I can participate this time!

it's a rough crowd out there today....i'm usually pretty understated about things but i thought i'd have some fun and go for some showmanship today to build excitement since we haven't had a contest in a number of months.
i'll explain more when the sponsors and contest plan is more developed. It will be more geared towards the pro users and those able to put creativity to work to really make a presentation of their idea.
if it all works out, the prize will be worth the effort.
