Negative Waypoint Altitude in DJI Ground station?

Have been flying a Phantom 2 via Jeti Radio and the iPad GS - successfully. I need to fly over a cliff edge and undertake a waypointed mission at negative altitude. Has anyone done this?. Am using a Trupulse offset laser to work out the heights below take-off point.

I am not sure that is possible. I think that 0 is the lowest that it goes. I will have to take a look.

I contacted DJI Support - Europe but have had no reply. If you can't go lower than zero altitude then they've made a major omission...

What if I take off on top of a building and want to execute a mission below take-off point?

Part of most systems work off of pressure altitude with a zero point established when the system powers up sitting on the ground. GPS will function at a negative value. For general flight things would probably work well but the way point part does raise some pretty good concerns.
