Naza - Manual mode OK, Atti mode not working

We have a Flamewheel 450 with non GPS NAZA that has a problem. In manual mode it is generally OK but Atti mode it is not. In Atti mode the throttle has two speeds, one just above idle and the other somewhat faster. Moving the throttle up and down produces no change in the speed of the motors beyond the jump from idle to running speed. Pitch and roll stick does nothing. Yaw stick will alter the speed of motors if pushed to the left but nothing changes if it is pushed to right.
Tx is Spektrum DX7, Rx is AR8000, ESCs are DJI 30A optos, motors are Robbe 2827-35, props not fitted yet, battery is 4S 4200mAh.
Manual-Atti-GPS switch is set up correctly in Naza Assistant.
Firmware is v2.02/ Assistant is v1.8

Anyone seen anything like this or have a clue as to what is going wrong ?

i have been seeing this. if you open an older dji assistant and load an older firmware and it still does it, start a warranty with your dealer

Kloner .... interesting! Was it exactly the same symptoms ? There was a recent post with this problem but the poster has faded away with no solution being posted.

I have dropped back to v1.6 / v2.01 and its still the same. The Naza was transplanted from our old hexa and it worked fine with that but on an even older software version. Perhaps I should drop back further but where do I get the files from ?

I've been looking around a bit more and yes there are other people who have had similar problems with their NAZA, particularly after a firmware upgrade. No one seems to have recovered from it. A bit disturbing !
There seems to be no way to do a 'hard' reset to the NAZA to wipe it right back to factory fresh. There also seems to be no way back from latest firmware versions. Means one is stuck with what one has wrought. So it seems its down to a visit to my dealer in the hope he can help.
