Went to the colorado river over the holiday and battled my new frame build most of the time, but it kinda didn't matter cause the wind was howlin. we started out tuesday it was 112f and the winds blew 10-15. next day 108 and it jumped a bit to 15-20. by thursday we were in a wind warning of 25-35 gusting to 60 but the temps plumetted and i went for it. dropped down to 81 for a high by friday and saturday. That was when i found out about all the interference i have going on so by the time i battled it and got it flying decent, had gotten rid of about every antenna cable had made and started over. My crimps were cracking the 90 degree sma connectors and shorting them out, along with placement of everything sucked. Also finally came across a problem with running video off the same pack your flying, dirty with too much drop out. Still managed to make it 5 days in incredibly challenging conditions and came home with everything.

3d foamie flyin the same place

ride on the boat through the same place

I didn't get a chance to take it further than i did on spektrum, but went 2200 feet and never hit failsafe so that's progress. should have the discovery for next trip, considering dropping this one back to smaller motors and 330 arms just to try something different. This thing flew the wind awesome. almost everytime i'd put my back in the wind, had the thing leaning back so it wouldn't get going too fast then was full bore forward going into it. Good times

Looks like a good time, I see you needing a bigger boat for all your gear. So you happy with your frame?

love the shape and size, but the power distribution sucks. had half the interference with the regular plates.

In the wintertime, that things so full of decoys and hunting crap you can't even walk in it, that's a 12' boat sitting inside the front and 100 duck decoys.

Wound up changing the camera to a gopro case with a dampner had laying around to help the jello when it flies in the wind. did alright. Gonna try 9" props next to see if that helps anything. Got 8" came in while was gone too.

Classic pic w/your dogs, we're on our 4th golden but this one has never embraced her retriever lineage which is kind of a blessing, no more slobbery tennis balls dropped in your hand while you're talking to the neighbors.
Nice frame, you and Yuri did good!

Cut file

Nice......are open to sharing this base design, do you have a CAD or cut file for this base design ?
It just what I am looking for to mount a stabilized Go-Pro for filming and FPV work.

Let me know, Cheers Dean

Your welcome to it www.rchelicollective.com/zen/albums/kloner/DJIf450quad/klonersf450fpv.dxf

the only thing i'd change if i was doing another is open up the front arms to the sides more. just twist all the front bolt holes another 10 degrees. think i had it 60 degrees front, 45 back. the stretched frame between the arms leaves plenty of room

it likes a gopro on the front deck, 5000 mah on it's back like stock and 3000mah in it's tail. leaves it a little tail heavy, but it gets nose heavy quick with forward tilt and flies stable as can be

unless you got the machines to cut this yourself, you'd be money ahead just buying a TBS discovery. it's pcb as well and has all the wiring built into the frames like video, power distribution, etc. $69
