NAZA ATTI Mode Forward Flight Questions

So I got my quad put together and finally got some flight time in on it today. Personally I love flying manual due to the control you have but I can see ATTI being great for some APV. When I have it in ATTI and push it forward somewhat hard the thing takes off like a bat out of hell!! I don't touch the throttle at all and this thing about doubles it's speed when I get a decent forward angle on it. Has anyone else experienced this?

that's the altitude hold part, if your pushing forward, it keeps moving forward. The weird part is when you let go and it stays there, if you pull back really hard mine barely comes back to flat then it finally does acto normal after a bit. gives me that disconnected feeling, like your not flying it anymore

Yea it scared the hell out of me when this thing just took off...I had to really pull back to get it to level out...then I switch it to manual mode to bring it down...scared to bring the throttle down any with all the cut off issues I've seen in this forum lol...So I'm guessing you guys haven't found out a way around this at all have you? Maybe gains or something? maybe adjusting the elevator on the controller?

i dont really have an issue with it just taking off from me, unless i send it out, and then it just seems to take a short while to respond and stop the forward flight.

Are you running 4s? I switched from 3s to 4s today and swapped props to the 8"...it is much more nimble and twitchy. I obviously need to adjust the gains again. The video is much smoother though.

I'm running 3s right now...I just broke a prop earlier doing some low flying in a parking lot...but i'm going to put on the 8" props tonight and most likely pick up a 4s...what mah are you running?

Hi brettskermetzger,
When using Atti mode the throttle tries to hold altitude when you tip the craft over thus giving more power to the motors. This may be what you are experiencing. What do you have in the 'Vertical" box? You may want to lower it some.

I found the same. Ran the 8" props with a 3S when I first built it and loved the responsiveness. After adding the GoPro and FPV gear I switched to the 10" props for more power but didn't like the mushy feel. I'm now back to the 8" props and a 4S and its nice and crisp again.

You know I think my vertical is set at 150...

I switched to the 8" blades running a 3s 3000mah 30c and in manual it's amazing...but for some reason I was getting a little oscillation in attitude mode...I think i'm going to start looking into some 4s lipo's....anyone know when to much mah in the batteries causing more weight becomes counter productive? I see some are running 5ks...just curious...when I get this gopro and hopefully a FPV set up some day I want to get the most flight time out of it as I can
