I was about to order 16 motors for 2 octo heavy builds but now that these are out, I am rethinking the setup.

Initially I was going with Castle Phoenix 50A ESCs, DJI WKM/ZEROUAV, Graupner 14x8/Xoar 15x5
8 - MT-2826 550kv
8 - MT-3515 400kv

Now I am thinking of getting these instead
- MN4012 340kv (though I still like the specs of the MT-2826)
- MN4014 400kv

Any thoughts?

I would have given these a chance but couldn't wait any longer and went for something else.

They are more or less the s800 motors. And the flight times and behavior besides the other hiccups is good !

BTW you can't use CC50A:s with YS-X6, unless you want to spend few days looking for calibration method through MC. Just wanted to let you know before you push buy button.

Kari, thanks for the info on the YS-X6! Will the turnigy plush 60A work, or any other you would suggest? I am actually thinking of using the ys-X4 instead., dont need all the bells and whistles of the X6.

I looked at the MT3515 650kv but the remarks in the specs are stating that they are running pretty hot on 14x4.7 and 15x4 on both 4s and 5s, no tests on the 6s thou.

I'm sure they are running hot in test bench with apc 14x4.7 with that high KV but check how much thrust it generates at that state ;) In real life things are different, i've even used 14X5 xoars in my 5kg cinestar hexa with mt2814/770KV with 4S and they haven't been even warm after 9 mins flight. I can only suggest you simonk flashed esc:s at the moment, for example hobbyking blueseries 40A:s have been working flawlessly and super reliably for me.

I just got my YS-X4 unit few hours ago and it's now installed to my new Y6 setup, otherwise i would make maiden flights tomorrow but wind forecasts are showing 25m/s gusts and 19m/s base so maybe not a good idea.

we had a motor done by tiger
we call it the X-200 380KV

we have a hexa runs 22 minutes with a AV-200 and a sony on board of 700 grams
batt 10000 mah 6S

and made a cinestar 8 lift capacity 4,3 kilo with this motor.

cool thing is we use 40 amps esc , and dont even reach 35 degrees at this weight.

props we use are 15x5,5 carbon

we have now the same price for both the 4108 and the 3519 .
i guess it was time to set the prices the same.

since tiger sells to anyone who has a http adress , these motors are getting more insteresting.

Does these pancake motors have the same problems with ESC as others have?

Which ESC work and which doesn't?

exactly what we do
we sell a 320kv combo with the 15x5,5 props called the X-200

I'm trying to decide between the 4014 kv400 motors and the 3515-15 kv400 motors. I have seen people posting comments saying the new 40xx series motors should be more efficient.

I'm building a Skyjib X8 to run on 6s and 15 or 16 x5 props, AV200 and up to 5d camera. Have put the calcs in ecalc and it says the 3515 is more efficient and gives longer flight times.

Anyone tried these motors or have any thoughts?

Thanks
Craig

I use 6 of the 4012 340kv motors and they seem like some good motors but time will tell.
Where did you find the specs needed for ecalc for the the new 40xx series motors?
