LiPo Battery Retailer recommendation

I want two more batteries for my DJI 550.

I currently use a couple of Pulse 6600mHa batteries (one at a time) I get about ~9 min flight times with my light landing gear and the GoPro mounted.

I'm considering ( 2) Turnigy 5000 mHa from HobbyKing.com but after reading about HobbyKing on resellerratings.com I'm skeptical.

I'd like some recommendations on a battery and a trustworthy retailer.

Thanks in advance, Jim.

I've ordered 3 turnigy 5000 mah batteries from Hobby King as well as aa nimh rechargeables and other items....depending on the warehouse they ship from depends on delivery time...other than having to wait a little longer all of my orders were perfect.

I've never used anything but gens Ace from Hobbypartz. They are often out of a lot of them but I grab a bunch when they are in stock.

there a pretty decent retailer, there batteries are pretty bang up. I like the blue turnigy brand. Hobbyking, hobbypartz, all the same as far as customer service goes. There all discount, drag there feet to exchange stuff, but for the price, they do a pretty decent job.

When i order lipos from hobbyking, i like using the usa warehouse. It has fast shipping and NOW, they let you return problems to the usa for exchange so it's pretty fast.

Batteries in order of my favorite

GensAce
Turnigy
SkyLipo

Those are at hobbypartz and hobbyking

I have the same set up as yours (F 550) plus an additional DJI 5.8 Ghz Tx onboard. I imagine that my take off weight with batteries is close to 2.4 kg. This is my safe flying time with 10 - 15% reserve:

Hyperion or Nanotech 5000 mah (25C) = 8 mins, Nanotech 6000 mah (25C) = 9,5 mins, Nanotech 6,4 mah (40 C) = 11 mins. My point is that the weight increases as you use higher amps values batteries which decreases your flight time. The best ratio point for my rigg is around 6000 mah. I am convinced that a 10 000 mah would not necessarely last much longer due to the extra weight. Also, the manoeuvrability of your ship is affected when you go super heavy.

Off course, it also depends of the type of flying you do. Personally, I fly smooth for video production purpose. When the need for speed is too strong, I put a 5000 mah on my F450 and we go for a crazy 15 min ride..... No cam, only God is my withness! Ha! Ha!
