Is there a better flight "time" difference in 3S vs 4S

i was thinking along des thought

This one is the full blown fpv set
http://www.readymaderc.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=10&products_id=29
you can buy the osd, gps and logger seperate though too. if you just use the logger to check whats happening to your packs when you spool up then see the red light, you could land, download the data, show us and i can show you the actual problem. i think you save a little buying it all together. I see these used new in box over at the rcg fpv classified section..... usually $150ish for a the complete package and some extra sensors

the osd looks something like this

Okay, yea, good point, I had one before but the sound alarm was not that great and could not really hear it. but yea I can use this to calibrate my battery

This allows you to test your battery packs and see what the actual voltage is reading as well as double as a warning alarm you can hear vs. just a blinking red light.
I'm wondering if your low voltage isn't correct in your software or a VU problem.

This would be a cheap way to test your cells and see if the pack is good/bad, see if the low voltage matches what the assistant software says & can always be used for an audible alarm while flying.

that one does, in fact that was the eagle tree on an immersion 5.8 600mw tx, uno rx on a crosshair
http://www.readymaderc.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=40&products_id=53
this is the immersion set, it's more of a benefit to an ezuhf than the video transmitter. but the gps lock is really slow. Takes a couple minutes wait every flight,,,,,, to mod it is another $50. team-blacksheep have one thats modded and works best here
http://www.team-blacksheep.com/products/product:92

gps is speed, altitude, where home is, etc

The eagle tree one above you can add or take away anything on screen. You can even turn it off or on midflight.... i usually leave it on. now i'd gotten kind of used to getting back i don't need the nav part as much, but it is fun to know how far away you are and how fast your going. They both have a bunch of crap to install

All that happens with any osd is your yellow video wire goes in one side and out the other to the transmitter. that overlays the info

Well actually I have an immersion 5.8 600mw tx, not the original tx, the original one is in a lake :(

Being a developer, to me this to me begs another question. The NAZA-M already has the info from GPS for speed/altitude/heading...so...why didnt they put a simple xml or rss data feed plug that would let 3rd party developers/manufactures plug into so they could and log or overlay their videos and create their own ExOSDs.

doubling the telemetry on the naza and the OSD to me this would be just one more thing that will eat my battery.

doesn't eat anything. look at it static, it does .5 amp..... i have a core osd that has no navigation, just volt, mah and it uses .5 amp, that includes 1 watt video tx, pixim camera and the naza full ready to go, gps no flashing, etc.

naza does have the info in it, but it's proprietary. dji is releasing an osd for wookong next month that i'm praying works with naza sooner than later. i also saw an arduindo osd working on a naza not too long ago, but the code wasn't to be found
http://quadcopters.co.uk/dji-osd-module-for-wookong-m-on-screen-display-494-p.asp

Right now i have two eagle tree setups, both in planes, it does return to home in them. it has waypoints, it has a stabilizer for the planes, it does alot of extra stuff a quad doesn't need. in the big eagle tree post at rcg, there was talk of an eagle tree flight controller like a wookong that was all eagle tree, with rth, with full blown osd.

Right now i'm running these cause they come with the TBS core which is a power supply for video transmitters and cams so you can run the good lawmate gear. it has a solder pad you short and bingo, this overlays on your screen, you can unsolder it and use an external set like i linked above

I need 3 more osd's and i'm holding out till dji does there thing. the 5.8 video transmitters makes eagle trees gps have a hard time that first lock in to the sats......

Thanks kloner, being a dev I always have to ask "why" :)

Ill order the EzOSD today then, it should plug right into my current ImmersionRC 600mw transmitter I hope
Here is the one I have, do you think it will work? (excuse my ignorance)

check out this picture, shows it better

see how it has video in and out...... your transmitter goes on video out with a new cable that comes with it. the old cable if hooked to a cam goes on the input. There stacked next to each other on the osd

again, the only complaint of this one is a couple minute wait to lock in. I'd buy the tbs version if it was me,,,,, if dji falls through that's how i'm going

it's a good one. you'll enjoy it. That thing has an smartphone app or some crap, also has a really cool log of your flight overlaid on google earth. the smartphone thing is bitchen

Total noob here... so bear with me. I just bought a F550 with all stock components on it. Just the hexacopter and the NAZA. The guy I bought it from has been running it with 3s 5000 packs. I have a buttload of 4s 4000's I fly on alotta other planes. What would I have to do to run the 4cell packs ? Right now it's got 10inch props on it. Would I have to go down to 8 inch ? It has the stock DJI motors and Esc's ( 30 amp esc's )
I just have like 9 of the 4cell packs... so want to use those vs buying more batteries. ( I try to tailor my R/C purchases around those batteries to control cost )
Thanks in advance.. and this is a great forum I stumbled across.... VERY informative !!
