Hi,

Does anyone know where to but an infra red camera suitable for using on an f550? I need one small enough to fit? I saw last night the RSPB are using one now!

Google Maxmax- they sell a whole range of IR cameras and judging by your username, you might find the NDVI enabled ones of interest- US based but quick shipping should you decide to go for one.

Thanks will look. I am think more of the "near infra red" as I want to use it to detect variations in different vegetation types.

I am experimenting right now with two s90's for nir. There is a semi-simple mod you can perform by removing the internal uv filter and replacing with a piece of ir filter. Take the two photos (IR & "full color"), overlay them in Photoshop, add some filters to get nir and ndvi data. Here is a sample shot of my s90 mod with a bright red poinsettia. You can see even the bright red leaves are the lightest in color therefore reflecting the most nir - and the best part about it is it's point and shoot which is key for our platform. However iso is a variable to experiment with since the filter is inherently dark. I have both cams running chdk, but I'm running into the issue where the timing of each does not stay synced due to focusing...which I'm thinking shouldn't be too much of an issue from far perspectives.
