How exactly does POI (Point Of Interest) work?

So iv read the manual to death, but cant quite get a grasp on the POI feature.

You plug everything in, wait for a GPS fix.

Then flick your IOC into POI mode.

Obviously the FC has chosen a POI in front of the copter, but how far away?

If you take off, and start rolling right (rotating around POI counter clockwise)
What is the radius of the circle that the copter will fly around?

Thanks guys!

Left/right roll will rotate your copter around the POI.

Pitch forward/back will decrease or increase the radius of the orbit.

Throttle up/down will increase or decrease your height, as normal.

Switch POI off to resume normal flight.

Ensure you have a solid GPS lock before doing hot laps around telephone poles.

Hope this helps.

Fly to the POI. Trigger the IOC switch 3-5 times between Course Lock and POI, I am using Control 2. The led will flash green rapidly. POI has now been recorded. Move the IOC switch to POI. The craft should then rotate to face the POI. At this point fly out the distance from the POI that you want using the elevator stick then rotate around the POI using the Aileron stick.
