I think this should start me off!!! I have a lot of reading to do! I know nothing about quads and their flight systems.. hahaa... I've been flying RC helis and airplanes on and off for 20'ish years. New to quads - I have flown a few micros - ladybird, and MQX.. I can fly them no prob - just never flown a quad this big.. I'm assuming I'll have no problems ;)

Can't wait to try it.

I will be ordering the GPS module ASAP (Anyone here have one to sell?!:)) This is a whole new dimension of RC flight I've been looking forward to trying! I have a *LOT* of reading to do!!!!

Just make sure you try it in a LARGE open area with no one around. It is intimidating the first time. I might recommend you try using a monitor first. But you can give it a go since you have the fatsharks. Reason being you cant take-off-land LOS which is harder than it looks.

It's a lot of fun. I just flew FPV for the second time today. I have a set of fatsharks and a screen on a tripod. It was a lot of fun but I was white knuckling it for most of the time. My three very novice words of advice would be:

find a big open field, maybe bring along a spotter for a little more confidence, and a lounge chair. The chair is not because you get tired but I didn't realize how this disorienting it would feel and I felt like I was going to stumble over a couple times and that would've been a disaster!!

Good words of advice!!! Does the fatshark have an output port?? I need to read up on it.. If so, I have a small LCD monitor that I could use.. I agree that would be better than goggles for the first couple times. And I do plan on going to a field to practice. I will fly it without FPV the first few times to get a feel of it, then I'll see how the FPV goes ;)

Also have to read up on how to set up my DX8 with a quad.. Or perhaps a setup file available for download somwhere?

Should be fun. Can't wait! Two more days, the suspense is killin me. hahaa.. I need to get the GPS module too.
