FPV + Battery Advice.

Hey guys I'm wanting some advice on a FPV setup for my F550 Flame wheel.

I'm using the Naza/GPS and would like to use a gopro (but up for different opinions on that) and would like to FPV exactly what I'm videoing. Is this possible? What setups are good ones, what are you using etc.

Also, what batteries do you recommend? What batteries are better than others? what size can I go up to? Where's a good place online to purchase them (im in Australia).

Thanks in advance.

You do have an option to use a voltage regulator to power the fpv gear by the main cell. What about some pros/cons of that??

I didn't understand much of that other than a good place to get lipos for aussies,,,,, hobbyking honk kong warehouse

want to fpv exactly what i'm videoing,,, huh?
is that asking if the gopro can be used for live feed through an fpv tx/rx?

the pros to using an external power supply and filter is you loose a battery and your range/video signal improves...., unless you were filtering the battery, then the signal would be the exact same

I'm using a 3c 850ma and it lasts for longer than I can fly in fact it last 90 mins! I would use a second battery as it will help you to find if it goes out if sight and crashes... I have OSD on mine as well so I have the gps position on top of it.. In my case the is belt a braces as I also have waypoint fitted...

Yeh, that's an option. I'm new to this so I was asking for your advice. What do you think is the best setup?

is that asking if the gopro can be used for live feed through an fpv tx/rx? I am wondering if I can view from the group (FPV) what the gopro is filiming while it's up in the air, or does there have to be 2 different cameras? How does the FPV work?
I was also trying to ask, what is a good brand or model for FPV setup. Cheers.

What are you flying for 90 mins? Atm I'm using a 5000mah 3s and I'm getting about 6-8 minutes.

Thanks for all the responses guys.

a 4000-5000mah 4s pack works good

yes, gopro has a live feed we tap into when flying from it. You don't need another cam, but they make it easier to see stuff. they work better looking at the sun and still giving a picture. the biggest thing i notice is the ability to follow stuff with a good pixim cam and not seeing the little stuff in a gopro. it is a wire you buy for $10 to link the two

immersion rc is a good brand for vtx and goggles with built in rx or even a single/dual channel rx. 5.8 is usually a good place to start

I plan on using a go pro black edition, the res and everything else is 2 x better than most go pros made so far.

if that's the case the $10 wire is a $40 wire and the problem is it's SD live feed like the security type cams, but the security cams have alot of features that make the picture perfect in the craziest conditions/backlight, etc.

here is a good pixim fpv cam

gopro 2 in protune

not as easy to see in the shadows with a gopro as it is for a camera made for it.

I use the balancing connector off my 4s 5000mah lipo main battery. Use a voltmeter to find the voltage you require
