Hello, I'm brand new to multicopters.

I just bought a f550 with m-wong and 14 channel futuba to shoot some gopro footage

I wanted to know where I can read/view flight instructions to get familiar with the multi before I give any throttle :)

Any insight is much appreciated, tips, tricks

Thanks, Jason

a flight sim would be a good idea. i have real flight 6.5 and it has several heli's and 1 multi rotor. the heli's are great training too. welcome to this forum, there is some super knowledgable people here willing to help.

Thx!, I have a little experience with a Blade SR 120 (baby helicopter), crashed the huck out of it a bunch but can keep it up for a few batteries . I'm needing to get up to speed on the multi pretty quickly and can't find any documentation/tutorials - I'll check out the SIM suggestion. I hope its easier than a heli since this has the gps, autopilot m-wong thing.

Tother, if set up properly the WKM and F550 will almost fly itself in ATTI or ATTI-GPS. I took a friend that had never flown anything and put the WKM in ATTI-GPS and IOC Course Lock. Once I explained the functions, he was flying without a problem. That said you really need to learn how to fly. You can take baby steps using the technology. Time and practice is what you need.

Good to hear, the guys who I bought the f550 from are setting it up and testing it - that should take some of the trial and error off my shoulders. I get it next week and the a solid week to get familiar with it before I have to shoot. Shoots needed are pretty straight forward, mostly long dolly shots into a 20' or so crane shot at 120fps. I'm excited... an nervous since this things not cheap! I'll definitely take baby steps, I really like having the thought of the w-wong ATTI-GPS/auto home incase I really f'up :)

At 120fps, what camera are you planning to use? A week is a short time to learn a flight system. In the time you have, Learn to drift past your target in ATTI mode. Get the craft moving then let it drift past with the least amount of stick movement. You will be happy with the results.

Thx Tahoe Ed. Yeah 1 weeks tight, im a pretty quick learner but your plan is exactly my intension. I got the Wong w/ 1 waypoint & plan to use the point of interest. The issue is leaning how the heck to set it up :). using small cameras for now & hope to upgrade to a 800 so it can carry dslrs once I get the hang of using a multi. 1 camera is the Gopro Hero3 Black does 1080p @ 60fps & 720p at 24/60/120fps wide & narrow FOV, also using a Panasonic LX7 which does 1080p @ 120fps and 720p @ 60fps w/ stabilization - FOV is 24-90mm. I really want to make the footage as smooth as possible so need to figer out anti vibration bushings/tape & where to modify the 2 axis gimbal.

Do you live in Tahoe? I living in Truckee for 6 years.

We have a home in Kings Beach. I have several friends in Tahoe that fly and film for a living. Work keeps me in Las Vegas most of the time unfortunately.
