An other video, again a little bit closer to where I want to be :)

This is with the Xoar 14x5 props because i like the efficiency of them, take some special attention at the landing in the end and watch the sharpness of the street tiles, wire dampers working perfectly :D

Wire dampers are heavy, the trick is to not have vibration at source. Very nicely made but too many heavy steel parts for my liking as a design concept.

I do not know what you call heavy ;)

Its true that first you have to minimize the vibrations at the source, but there will always be some vibrations left,
and that is where the wiredampers come in :)

Just for comparison, a SkyJib 6 kit weighs 1300g empty, and that is without wiredampers and a removable arm system.

This photo on the balance is without the six Avroto motor mounts with clamps and the bolts & nuts for the mounts that weights in total 100,8g, but with
all the motor and lighting wires already installed, 18 lengths 16AWG and 12 lengths 24AWG that weight in total 215g.
So the total of the compleet Flexacopter kit without the wires is 1045g, and the V2 version will be 123g lighter.

Not bad for weight. Boron is what is used for golf club shafts!

Holco, she's beautiful! Love what you have done with her!

I'm a big fan of wire dampners. Trade offs have to be made some times, and sure wire dampners weigh her down some, but that's the price you pay for vibration control.

I've seen several people use them and with excellent results!

Really like the orentation arm on the back boom, too!

Bet she flys like a dream!!!

Tomstoy2,

Thanks for the nice comment, And I am happy to hear someone who understand the benefit of wiredampers :)

The difficulty with wire-dampers is that you need to find the balance between the payload / stiffness of the RVS wire and the number of threads to use,
also the position of the threads has influence.

There are so many choices, and it took us a long time and prototyping before we got it spot on :)

To mug wire and the damping effect will loos his effectiveness.

To little wires and you will have a continue swinging mount.

Yesterday we dit some practicing in kinderdijk (historical dutch windmills area), unfortunately the video images are not really postable because of some problems with the Picloc x3, George is working hard to get this fixt.

But fortunately we have some very nice pictures :) with the compliments to Tjeerd Fonk.
