Falling out of the sky problem...

Gary, where is your GPS mounted? I have mine mounted on my boom as far from the FC as possible, and when I change batteries, it picks up GPS again in a matter of 10 or 20 seconds.

Gunter.

I have mine bolted to the back right corner, and I'm using the longest of the three rods provided. I'm not sure on this particular setup if I can get it any farther away. :)

I experience not just once but often almost. Hovering pretty nice no doubt but soon after couple of minutes it will just like it looses power or cut off, then i hit the throttle stick to maximum to recover then power goes back. It freaking me out always since im flying at very high altitudes.

I'd check and make sure you have solid connections, and that nothing is getting warm. My problem was a mismatch of connectors that caused a lot of resistance, which generated heat. The resistance also caused a voltage sag that ended up causing the motors to draw more current than normal, trying to still hit the same power levels. Anyway, if you have a bad connection, the heat generated can cause expansion which can the cause a temporary complete disconnection. That's what was happening with my setup.

Thank you sir. By the way in my case i suspect it was power distribution board i made. ESC to Motor connection was soldered then ESC supply soldered to DIY power dist. board, A double sided PCB. I think i need to add capacitor on my PD board? any suggestion what capacitor value needed?

Just when I thought it was safe to back in the water... :nevreness:

I just did a test flight this afternoon, mainly as a test of my GoPro mount changes, but also, I wanted to "calibrate" the Voltage Monitoring function. The flight went fairly smooth, and I had no further incidents, but I only got about 3-1/2 to 4 minutes of flight time, if that, before the yellow flashing gave way to red flashing and a gentle descent to the ground. I checked, and the motors were warm again, not like the first time, but warm, nonetheless. Oh, and to preclude the possibility that sitting there for 7 minutes, waiting for the GPS to find enough satellites, I started out using a 3rd pack, by itself, to power up the WK-M. To my pleasant surprise, however, it took but 32 seconds for the single flashing red LED, and only 1:41 for the last one to be found. Good news, for sure. :) Anyway, once the GPS was set, I plugged in one of the 4s-3300 flight packs, unplugged the 3rd one, and then plugged in the 2nd 4s-3300 flight pack. It was only about 30 seconds from then, until I took it off.

Anyway, after the abbreviated flight, I also noticed that one of the packs was warm (along with the motors...), but the second one was cold. Once I plugged it into the charger, my suspicions were confirmed, it was still completely full. :shame: These packs came from the LHS with Deans and I got lazy because they are the "real" variety, as was both ends of my new Y-adapter. #@%&! Well, at least I know what happened. I'll swap these out for something else, first thing in the morning.
