F450 motors hot.

I just completed upgrading to GPS. After the first flight I noticed that all the motors were hot. By hot I mean that I could touch the motor, but could not hold it for any length of time. The ESC's were warm, not hot. Prior to the upgrade the motors would be slightly warm, but not hot. There is no load on the quad except the 3300mah battery. Most of the flight was in GPS mode (playing with the new toy), and it was windy (5 - 10 mph constant and up to 20 gusts).

I am guessing the motors were working pretty hard to hold it constantly in position, but wanted to get opinions from those with more experience.

and the little more weight doesn't help. what does it weigh ready to fly?

Around 600 grams. Not carrying anything but the battery, and miscellaneous electronics (receiver, led controllers, LEDs etc).

i'd take a good look at the prop balance and you might want to put a drop of oil on each bearing. Sounds like it fighting the wind was the culprit. if it's been crashed, check for bearing problems

i like tri flow, the pen is nice, easier to not over do it.
