so the aux 3 knob is assigned to ch6 aka. aux1 in your radio?

If you goto endpoints, that is still -100 100 for aux1?

Gear switch -> gear channel -> NAZA U port
Aux 2 switch -> aux2 channel -> NAZA X2 port
Knob -> aux3 channel -> NAZA X1 port

Everything works except the knob combination.

If I use my aux1 switch to control x1 it work just fine.

If I use the knob to control x2 still nothing.

send a letter to horizon and see what they say about it.

You said the knob shows movement in monitor? man, weird. you said it works with different switch, even weirder, that would mean it's not the wire on the reciver to naza....... stumped, thinking horizon will walk you through the details to ensure it's enabled in the radio. feels like somewhere the INH is set to the knob

The knob shows movement in the monitor. I even replaced the cable between aux and x1.

I will try resetting naza through a firmware upgrade and setup a new model in my dx8 to make sure all settings start from default.

Thanks for your effort!

i'm reading your manual, on page 15 it shows the place to set what knob works what channel, that's how you were trying different switches on aux3? shows more on page 16, all that is right, yea?

you don't have any mixing enabled like flaps, etc do ya?

gyro says inh or aux3? under the gyro menu, what are the % if you used that for your gain knob? bottom of that screen says what channel controlls it, is it set to aux3? I have a feeling this is the one you got mixed up. back at page 15 in the manual, the aux3 should say gyro somewhere

OK, i seen that on a video or an aftermarket sheet for setting this up. if anybody else reads this and knows, by all means help a brotha out.

I'd try clicking it again, what worse could go wrong

I tried clicking it again, maybe too many times :). That's why I am thinking about forcing a firmware update just to reset all settings.

try it......

in the directions it just says disable all knobs, shows where it's at, but doesn't say anything about how or what it does

My settings look exactly like the manual shows. I have never changed anything there, I only checked them to see if they are fine. As a matter of fact all I did in DX8 was to create a new Model type for F550 (Airplane mode) and adjusted the Travel (86%, 86%) for the Gear Switch to properly control the Attitude/Manual Modes on channel U.

When I tried mapping different switches to X1 I did not do that from the DX8 setup. I did it by changing wires between RX and Naza. Instead of connecting the Aux3 wire to X1 Naza channel I connected Aux 2. I could then control X1 using the Aux2 switch.

I also wired the Aux3 to X2 but it did nothing. Also replaced the Aux3 cable.

I can only see to answers:

1. My Aux 3 channel is fried
2. My Naza is bugged and needs a reset

so we can trouble shoot the aux 3 part. Goto page 15 and see how it shows aux3 - knob,,,,,,,, make that aux1 or any other open channel and change the wires around to get aux 1 into x1..... or any other open channel will work

When you goto gyro in your manu, whats it say o the bottom like is it mapped to a channel? say inhibited?

I will troubleshoot the aux3 port just like you said. Makes perfect sense.

Regarding the gyro, I don't see what this has to do with the knob, can you please explain?

the gyro menu is a gain controller, except instead of using endpoints to control it, you use percentages. by default, that is set to aux2. i just wanted to make sure nothing got changed, cause it that is enabled to aux3 and in the main page 15 setup menu, you have the dial set to gyro, then in gyro menu, it is set to 0%, your not gonna see a gain in the naza software. if the gyro menu isn't set to aux3, were set. if it is set to aux1 which it could be, we would want to make sure to make the bottom of the gyro menu say inhibited so it doesn't get in the way of troubleshooting it

the same could happen if the gyro menu was set to 100%, it will lock the x1 over to 100% like you mentioned and all choices would be 100% so it would appear not to work

you should contact the dealer, but i was reading the other day where the wkm got locked out with a firmware upgrade, there was a set of pins to short that reset naza to factory settings, you need that. think it was the 2 gimble signal wires, but not positive.

Whod you get this from? need ot tell em you hit dissable all knobs, bet they'd have ya in the sky in seconds, your surely not the only guy to click around

I managed to make the knob work again to control x1

I had to ditch aux3 which was the default channel of the knob

I moved the knob on aux1 channel which was unused anyway and connecter aux1 to x1.

The question that now remains is why this happened and Ihope it will not happen the same with aux1.

Thank you for your assistance, you helped me understand new things and get to the bottom of the problem.

that's a good question. it still acts like some other setting has aux 3 inhibited somehow.

If you wanted to get to the bottom of it, you'd probably have to send your gear to horizon.........
