Do you name your copter?

I'm wondering if anyone names their copters?

I have a name for my car, which is ***** Magnet, but I have not yet named the copter.

(Here's the car, in case you're wondering)

My first thought was... if I named it after my wife... and I crashed it... it would have gone down on me ;)

I haven't put a personal name on any of my models, cars or toys. The tempermental ones could have girls names ;)

LOL :highly_amused:

Was thinking of going with "Out of the Blue" which was the name of the DJ crew I started in the 1980s. Descriptive for something that flies in to and out of the blue sky.

It should be a female name.....you never know what it's doing next, and most of the time it ends in a catasthrophe...and it's fu**ing expensive

:highly_amused: so true

I guess mine would be called "GETDAHELLOUTTADAWAY!!!" since I find myself saying that a lot.

Yes sure!
and we use girl names ;)
we got a X8 coax that's called "Barbara" (over 900+ flights now!)
and a HexaXL called "Charlotte" (new ,+-20 flights)

@Chris

That is a great copter :) but you definitely need to add some LED-strips and fly at night!

Apparently, my wife Helen says that when I have lost a machine during AP (3 radio failures on Trex camera-ships... thanks Specktrum) and I have called out Helen - not like she could do anything about it.
Well last Saturday my hexa flipped smashing my new camera on the pavement... and I didn't say a thing. Helen actually thanked me for not calling out her name... despite it "going down on me"...

Yes. My first multicopter was named "Hexa Sentinel". I named it that because it was a flat hexacopter with FPV camera and gimbal for my Sony Nex 5n. I gave it a RED cylon-esq eyes.

My new Y6 is called "Hexa Raven" or just "Raven". It also has Red cylon-esq eyes and the Y6 with the Graupners give it the look of a flying bird of prey. :)
