S800 EVO Frame Arm

It has a new and additional strengthened structure design with greatly enhanced rigidity. Multistrand SR Wires of power and signal lines embedded which has improved the system reliability comprehensively. The S800 ESC and motors can be installed directly onto the arm.

2. Working temperature: – 20-70°C;
3. Signal wire standard: 22 AWG SR Wires;
4. Power cord standard: 16 AWG SR Wires;

S800 Vibration Absorber Kit

The kit contains six dampers and an IMU mounting plate. You can install them easily on your S800 without making any changes to your S800 and flight performance can be improved greatly. All you have to do is just installing the six dampers between the S800 frame arms and the landing gear, and the air-core damping ball within the dampers will absorb the high frequency vibration. It effectively reduces the high frequency vibration influence to the IMU and gimbal, and makes the S800 flying more stable.

The difference between with and without the vibration absorber
Before we mount the vibration absorber on the S800, we stick the GoPro camera on the landing gear directly and the shooting footage are full of water ripples; after we mount the vibration absorber on the S800, you can see clearly the working state of the vibration absorber, and there are no water ripples in the shooting footage, in addition, the vibration absorber will greatly reduce the vibration of the IMU and the gimbal.

Looks like a worthwhile improvement to the existing arms. I like that you are now using the silicon wire. Less prone to the chaffing than the solid copper with the coating on it. I have the intermediate arms with the larger CF tab in the arm. I wonder how much stiffer the EVO arms are over mine? I have the vibration isolation mounts that I am going to try out this weekend. I am looking forward to the introduction of the A2M version of the WKM.

I've had my set-up for a few months but the well documented issues many of us have experienced have kept me from flying it.

So I contacted my very good and helpful dealer in the USA and he did not know when they would ship or what they would cost. So DJI spill it! When will dealers get them and how much??? I am currently suffering from vibes getting to the IMU and I would really like my very expensive Zen s800 combo to fly like the professional rig you claim it to be.

Fritz, it works for some not others. It depends on your set up. I have not had any problems other than those that I caused.

Easy to watch torsionnal bending and shear on MotorMount/Arms.
Wind about 10km/h (6 miles/hour).

I did order S800 because it was clearly stated on the DJI web site and in the instruction manual that this bird falls under professional category of DJI products and it is designed for aerial photography and can handle up to 7kg weight. Z15 was designed for it which could carry NEX7. And guess what. Soon after receiving S800 I had to return ESC’s and get new ones. Then I had to exchange GPS. Then I realized that it cannot do the work which is lifting Z15 and the camera. Why? Because it is almost 7kg and shakes like an unprofessional hobby quad copter. Now I have emailed DJI for IMU replacement request and got no respond. Later I have to buy the vibration absorber kit. Then EVO frame arm. May be then (hopefully) it could do the job it supposed to do from the beginning. I appreciate the braveness of DJI because they admit the weaknesses of their product by introducing new so called upgrades. But I think they should be more customer oriented and should not charge their customer for upgrades that are actually not upgrades but are replacement of defect parts. Retractable landing gear is an upgrade. But EVO arms and IMU V2 are not upgrades. Arms and IMUs which we received in the first place were supposed to be good enough to be used for a smooth aerial photography for up to 7kg bird out of the box as claimed by manufacturer. Anything other than this is called defect parts. Sorry for my poor English.

DJI seem great at posting about upgraded and new products that even their dealers no nothing about. Then they do not come back and answer questions.. Just really glad I did not jump into the S800/Z15 ring.

DJI really could do with a bit of western CS injection.. But I doubt that will ever happen. Its all about box shifting and its lookin more and more like thats all the growing DJI care about.

I have to say its disappointing but I guess thats the tech we are into where we are all beta testers!

Oh this just gets funnier and funnier.

Hot on the heels of the IMU.v2 uproar, where the sentiments pretty much echo what you have stated, is this announcement of replacement booms - eerily foretold by Yours Truly in the Wookong IMU V2 thread.

With this 'upgrade' DJI will have finally replaced the virtually entire machine. Not only that, they have wangled it so that their customers (read 'stupid idiots' in DJI-speek) will have paid twice for their S800 rigs. Once for all the original poorly designed faulty components and once for the V2 replacement parts.

I bought 8 s800 with wkm's for various film rigs and have nothing but issues and problems. The fact that DJI cant even say lets help our current clients get their units perfect is beyond me the vibration absorbers are 75$ for s800 owners but i cant see myself paying even that. I would rather burn all 8 units and go viral on the internet explaining what a **** company this is. I am tired of DJI. I will do everything in my power to discredit this bunch of money hungry idiots. Maybe i should go to one of their trade shows on do it there in front of everybody.

I think the legal term in the UK is 'fit for purpose' and I feel DJI have proved themselves that what they were selling originally as the S800 for professional use was indeed 'not fit for purpose'...
