DJI F550 hex (battery, charger/power supply) combination

I use 2 HP 47a server power supplies in series to power the charger and take full advantage of the output wattage. One thing to consider is the chargers max output and what it needs to attain it. The 820 requires you to have 28 volts and over 43a of current before it will output the full 800w. So making sure you have a power supply that will give you the full potential of the charger is important also. The PS you're looking at will not give you great results as it is under powered for the chargers potential, granted you are not charging 5s-8s batteries. I would look at doing a DIY Server Power supply conversion like what I did, It works great and I think I have all of about $75-$100 into my whole power supply system!

But like tomstoy2 said "buy it right, buy it once!"

Good luck with your Hexa...

How about the next up in line, a scratch and dent larger model? 100% functionality.
$219.95....from $259.95.

Honestly I just want to fly the right way from the start..
Not having to worry that I don't have the right tools for the job. mentally priceless.
-when my noob brain cells are more filled of info, I can use these tools to the level of which they were intended for.

I dislike buying twice from decision error, unless it's small potatoes$$.

Why does TP website say 10.5-28.0V DC (40 amps max) for TP820CP?

Thanks guys.

I just spoke with customer support from ThunderpowerRC.

His suggested charger was the Iota DLS 2740 power supply.
Price:$274.99

He stated, a "ripple effect" can happen with the common sense model and others.
For the TP820CP charger, his straight answer was Iota DLS 2740.

**He said, be sure to plug in the charger to the power supply before powering on.

I'm on the fence.
I know I'll hear, "don't worry", but I am to new to this and mentally pulled apart at the moment.

Thad,

I have been running the Common Sense supply for over a year without a single problem. With everything I do, I like to buy right and buy once. There is certainly is not anything wrong with getting that other power supply. I just do not see the real advantage of it. I charge Dual lipo's all the time with my TP and Common sense set up. Anything from 4S 6000's at 15 amps each to 6S 4000's at 15 amps each. Never had a problem. Until I start having issues, I am going to say the common sense is good to go. That is Just my opinion.
