Another Screwball And More Bad Press

What does a man on vacation flying his personal drone, during his personal time (he is on vacation) have to do with working for Amazon?

Cops told him not to fly it in public space, voila done. Apparently the video show's no crash happen during the flight, so there goes that headline...

pretty cool vid.... he needed longer range gear and to get further away to fly from. they probably glassed that thing right back to his window...

The story does demonstrate the public bias against our aircraft. That someone would make a false statement declaring the quad hit a window to obtain a police response shows there are problems that go well beyond unthinking operators. Plenty of issues on both sides of the fence. Unfortunately the public doesn't realize that even with anti drone privacy laws the people they are currently complaining to will be the ones violating their privacy.

the news is out of control for a drone story. It's a bad time to fly in public, people makin stuff up.

it is a mess, it'll be interesting to see how the news associations fare claiming ammendment rights to allow them to use drones. at the same time i see no difference other than an epic with a long lens in a full size or a hero on a phantom. When we had our fires earlier this year the news was flying a helicopter 12 miles from the fire and it was a decent view of it..... at the same time the public was launching phantoms in the fire and the fire choppers were avoiding areas to put water on because the phantoms where there. the faa released notams that were targeting the public not to fly there drones on the fire, news ran the story.

It's crazy how since the phantom came out at how different the public is around me. it went from a curiosity that ended with a cool to being told a bad drone story a random person comes along to tell me. They used to call us remote controlled aircraft.... and multirotors

I was asked, no joke, if it was possible to arm my multirotor from a few worried people at the park. I was in Canada when someone asked me that, so the US media hype & bs has already spread across the border.

I reassured them and educated them. They were shaking their head at all the bs the media was writing.
