I recently built an S900 with the A2/ Light Bridge/ H3-3D gimbal/ Gopro 4/ Tau2 Flir camera. I have Pulse 22000 mAh batteries.
The craft is used for search and rescue operations. I went with the H3-3D/ GoPro setup because we don't need movie quality video. The simple gopro HD live feed and the FLIR camera is all we really need. I figured this way we would save on weight and increase our flight time. I am hoping to get between 25-30 mins of flight time from this setup. During my first few test flights, I flew pretty aggressively/ fast but just back and fourth a couple hundred yards. I did a few fast climbs but not much. I flew this way for 20-25 mins. After I landed I was getting a voltage reading of 3.85-3.9 per cell. But this is not the point of this post.
For search and rescue, it would be beneficial to be able to map out a pre determined flight/ search pattern. The ground station does just that but from what I am reading I can't use it with the Lightbridge. If I dont use the Lightbridge for RC control of the craft can it work or is it still not a good idea? Is there a plan to implement the ground station feature into the LB?
