3DR, What's up?

Yes, It's confirmed, standalone Pixhawk 2 will be released soon as a whole FC system, improved IMU, PSM and GPS, it will be assembled by U-Drones, which is 3DR's manufacturing branch in Mexico.

VERY confusing. Soooo, 3DR still has a place in Mexico ??? They just farmed out the Solo from China ??? I hope they get things worked out, but I fear all this Solo stuff will hurt their reputation. Pretty big screw up in my opinion. I like 3DR, own 3 Iris+, and configuring an F350 with an older APM 2.6 A BIG step up from the Naza Lites I used to swear by, or at, sometimes! I dunno, maybe I just like to root for the underdog!;)

Why would they be testing the Pixhawk 2 in China if they are being assembled in Mexico? Where are you getting your information?

@Marsaa If you hang around DIY Drones (http://diydrones.com) you can find a very interesting thread from competent design people already complaining about some clear design issues with the PH2. I'm not sure what to make of it at this point but I found it a little disheartening. Hopefully 3DR will listen and address these issues before they go into FS production, but at this point in time I'm doubting. It's bumming me out because I'm a big 3DR (well, ArduCopter/APM) fan.

If anyone wants I'd be more than happy to post the aforementioned link.

I think 3DR has some internal issues.
I have tried 5 times now to purchase an X8 copter and a bunch of other gear.
Banks have been black listing 3dr and their guys are taking 3 days to respond to email issues.
I cleared their transactions with my bank, but they still have not taken the money. Its been a full 2 months of messing around now.

I think I'll just have to live with the HobbyKing knock off of the PixHawk. At least they actually sell me stuff.

that's a great forum if your stuff works. if it doesn't and you actually try to ask about it you have a 50/50 shot someone will help vs. flaming you for being a fool.

but i'm not biased! :)

Well Ok. In my experience there I have found a lot of people who have helped me interpret log files. Also, it's a great source of info (blogs) related to new hardware/software WRT APM and Open Source. Yeah, it has its trolls, but show me a forum that doesn't?

Actually, THIS forum has been fairly devoid of trolls :)

But you're right - there are always all kinds on these forums. And it can make it tough sometimes to gather what seems like simple answers sometimes.

@cootertwo - I do find it a bit strange that the web site is not updated. Seems that would be step 1 for both a tech company and a company looking to succeed in sales :)

I don't know of a troll here. there have been a few over the years but we generally address them pretty quickly and ask that they go elsewhere.

We love to help and it's great when we can offer a service to a user group by attracting and retaining knowledgeable people simply by being a great community to be involved in.
