Pete has the 900kv version, which I think might be more suited to 3s, while those flying 4s seem to have the 800kv version. I think the 900kv version on 4s with 8" props would work, or maybe even 9" props, but ideally the 800kv version would be better. I just realized I bought the 900kv ones...

mikrokopter looks like a bit of a nightmare just to figure out what parts to buy... Bit up there in price too, looking at specs, the quad is rated for 1kg payload. Does that include lipo? Some do, some don't... given that I would probably want the hexa-xl, it lists 1500g. And you appear to be...

mainly photo, video would be a nice addition though. Any thoughts on the newer nx-4008 style flat pancake motors? Seem like they would be ideal for multi-rotors. I'm about to outfit my tricopter with them I think and see if it gets any smoother. Can you point me to Gary's gimbals?

First, a bit of background... I've been playing with multi rotors a while now, though my primary RC interest is in airplanes and a bit in traditional heli's too. I've had an XAircraft X650, and a tricopter from fpv manuals, as well as played with a gaui and rusty rev 8 quad with a Paris board...

Gens Ace are great packs. 5c charge rated and hold their voltage quite well. I have about 15-20 of them that I use on my airplanes.

allerc.com sells Hyperion packs that are of very good quality. They ship extremely fast as well. Hyperion packs aren't cheap, but they will last 300+ cycles. Most Turnigy packs won't come close to that, so if you factor that in, the price isn't quite so bad. amainhobbies.com is also US based...

Where is the best place to get support on the arducopter stuff? I got mine flying just recently as a Y3 on arducopter. Had a crash today and I think I didn't have enough control authority. Also it seemed like the 'neutral' point or level point of the accelerometers got off. It was a windy day...
