    Manufacturing Drones?

Hey everyone! Sorry for taking so long to get back to you, this information has been invaluable. @IrisAerial, for this prototype we have used the X650 frame, it is very close to the ideal frame for our design and fits the criteria. We take safety very seriously and will be putting every one of...

    Manufacturing Drones?

Great responses, this is a real insight for us. Thanks... Drones in their current state are no where near ideal and we have compiled an incredibly long and detailed list of hardware and software improvements that can and will be made in the coming years. We will do out BEST to implement these...

    Manufacturing Drones?

Hello eskil23, Thank you for taking the time to reply! We should have been more clear on that point, you are correct, that flight time is WITHOUT a payload. Our prototype is compatible with any 4S batteries that has an XT60 connector, so with a 6000mah battery we are looking at even better...

    Prop balancing question

"For plastic props I agree entirely however with carbon, not so sure." I am, and I will let you all know how it works out. I have 8 12" carbon fiber propellers balanced in the horizontal plane. To do this I used a 500 grit metal sandpaper, then moved up to 800 and finally 1000. I like the...

    sUSB Expo in San Francisco

Chris's presentation was a highlight, as was the previous talk from dronedeploy.com, this is where things are heading. The hardware and autopilots are pretty much 95% there, now the ecosystem can evolve around that. A really exciting time to be in the "drone" industry.

Is it safe to unplug ESC servo connections?

Cool, thanks! To be clear, the power will be going into the ESCs while the servo (or signal) wire is unplugged from my flight controller. This seems to make sense as the ESC MOS-FETs would not be turned on to draw current, therefore nothing should blow..

Is it safe to unplug ESC servo connections?

I want to run one motor at a time on my quad to see which one of the motors is giving me vibrations... is it safe to unplug ESC wires while power is connected to them? I am using a 4 in 1 ESC so you can see my predicament....

Quadcopter build by Jethro: Part one

The other night I went to bed safe in the knowledge that packing teams in Germany, China and America had sprung into life, hurriedly shipping what will soon be my first real world experience with UAV technology. Just few days later a small package with Chinese airmail written on the side...

What would you like to see in new quadcopter?

Hi reddinos, to address you questions... 1 - what would the total weight be? 1400g without a gimbal or payload... 2 - and as a result, what would the flight time be? This will vary greatly depending on your style of flight and what you add on for payload. Approximately 20 minutes...

Mikrokopter What justifies the price tag?

http://www.buzzflyer.co.uk/MikroKopter/MikroKopter-Quadro-XL-RTF/p-166-2086/ I think that the MK controller price is definitely not justifiable with the advent of Ardupilot etc Also not loving the advertising hype: "Heavy lift 55cm class Bigger props than you have all carbon" Ardupilot has...
