Yes, that's correct. Just download the new Assistant, install & launch, power on and plug on the NAZA. It should ask you if you want to update almost immediately. All settings are saved.
It should be ok with the 16mm pancake but it is probably at the limits of the ability of the stock 550 to give you a steady camera platform. My 550 is fitted with the Aerocraft landing gear, GoPro gimbal, 9x5 props and 5000 mAh 4S and I wouldn't want it any heavier otherwise slow movements are...
Increasing the gains will make the unit more stable, it's not quite the same as FBL on helis. Try the 8" props, I think you'll find that livens it up a bit.
General school of thought is that 8" is best for 4S and 10" for 3S. The higher RPM from 4S could possible be part of the cause of 10" prop failures in flight that have been reported. Also the amount of prop wash from 10" on 4S means that it would be less stable in a hover and descending. You may...
Do the same rules apple in terms of sizeof the Graupners? 8" for 4S and 10" for 3S?
I've been using 8" DJI on 4S and found them fine but have now added landing gear, gimbal and GoPro so was wondering if maybe 9 or 10" on 4S would be better for lift.
The LED strips from Hobby King are good value. They don't stick well but superglue will fix that. I run mine by soldering direct into the power ring so they come on when I plug in my LiPo. They are rated for 12V so perfect fro 3S but I'm running mine of 4S with no ill effects.
I'd like to mount my GoPro on the 550 bottom frames and also some landing gear to give clearance for the camera. Where can I drill holes to place mounting bolts without drilling through the PCB wiring?
I have a perpex mounting plate for the GoPro that suits being installed on the outer edge of...
Hobbyking has different colours of these in metre lengths, blue are the brightest, for around $5. I have some on my 550 running 4S directly into the strips. Even though they are rated for 12V they seem to be holding up under 4S.
