Aeronavics / Droidworx flying Skyjib 8 in -20 temperature...

Your first port of call will be to understand the technology behind how your kit works. GPS is not a ground based signal such as phone & power. 24 satellites in orbit provide the grid from which the system works from & they are above. Hence why in built up areas GPS can prove to be intermittent...

Only Lec now, I never mastered the three axis gimbal. Leaving that to the PlayStation generation. Its just hardware build and fix now. Lemon drizzle on Skye? Talisker got the vote instead. andy

jfro... It was just borrowed for the day where we were shooting. A large industrial complex... the workers had used it for getting around.

New style DJi Folding props.. how are yours ?

The props are good but do vary in weight so its important to put matched pairs together. It seems like DJI do this when they produce the S900/1000. You need to take them off to check, I used a microbalance to weigh them to +/- .001 grammes. A jewellery balance will do if you can't access a high...

    Zenmuse GH4 Owners thread

Hi ben. ok I've actually managed to see some of the footage and I am pretty happy with the results. Certain the horizon hold seems bang on which was most important to me & I haven't had some of the unfortunate ones which have the glitches so it's certainly a positive move for me. There is a...

The ALL New DJI S900 Hexacopter!

Ben... I have spare set of S1000 legs that I've fitted to our S900. Everything fits, no problem. However, I'm not too impressed with the quality of some parts. GPS mast pivot block tie bar stripped it's thread without even getting tight. Leg to landing skid clamp not machined correctly inside...

Which flight controller for S900 - A2 or Wookong?

Our new S900 will have a Wookong. Our S1000 has had an A2 for the last 6 months and done us well. Bad vibes about other's A2s and threat of a UK CAA dislike of them forced us to take the lower risk route. Our old Droidworx Y6 has had a Wookong for the last 18 months and been good to us. andy

    Zero UAV GEMINI Dual-Redundancy Autopilot

I am very confused as to the benefit of dual redundancy. The minimum redundant system is a triple channel one where it can use 2 out of 3 voting to decide what is probably the correct value. How does the dual system decide? Toss of a coin? So I am not convinced its any positive advantage other...

S900 Owner's Thread and Mini Build Log

Leg length when using a ZenMuse GH4 gimbal .... Ed.. Comments have been made that the undercarriage leg length is too short on an S900 and DJI are sending replacement(?) legs to US customers. True? Is this going to be done for all markets? Are the replacement legs simply S1000 ones? andy

    Zenmuse GH4 Owners thread

Apologies. I meant a restriction in the tilt movement not pan. Have been out in some pretty gusty conditions today filming & it coped really well with it & its horizon hold definitely seemed a lot better than the previous generations of the gimbal. Once I review the footage I can give a...

    Zenmuse GH4 Owners thread

It does seem to have a much more solid calibration than the GH2 & GH3 version. I'm guessing this is because it can't spin infinitely in the pan axis so it sets itself quite quickly.

    Zenmuse GH4 Owners thread

My GH4 Zenmuse has just arrived so we've replacing the existing GH3 gimbal on the s1000. As it uses the same mounting points it was a straightforward affair. All seems ok so far but its off on it first earner tomorrow so will post some results and experiences once it's been put through it's...

S900 Owner's Thread and Mini Build Log

So once again it's a game of luck with dji? Even though they have now had 2 generations previous with this issue. Would I also be right in saying that if I received one with the drift issue again I'd be able t have it replaced straight away? Lec
