    So it begins....

Although not related to trespass or privacy laws, it is my understanding that the upper altitude limit for RC is 400' (although it sounds like some here violate that). If you are physically on someone's property, not only might you be charged with peeping, but also trespass. I'm pretty sure...

    So it begins....

Just saw an interview on FOX News with one of our Texas state reps regarding a bill that he is working on for the state house that is pretty far reaching banning the use of "drones" to photograph or video record private property without the property owner's permission. He is stressing that it...

Hope you are not in Charlottesville - Drone ban

Not sure that's such a cuddly term either. Ever read "I Robot", "2001 a Space Odyssey", "I have no Mouth but I Must Scream" or any number of other dystopian tale of the future?

Hope you are not in Charlottesville - Drone ban

That's a pretty Orwellian term right there.

    So it begins....

I'm not so sure about the first bolded statement. If you are in a public place where you don't have any reasonable expectation of privacy, I'm pretty sure that I can photograph you and sell the image to any publication I wish no matter in what activity you were engaged. Perhaps I couldn't sell...

Hope you are not in Charlottesville - Drone ban

I think that you are conflating use by the private sector and abuse by the public (read govt) sector. I don't interpret that resolution as even suggesting that using a remotely piloted aerial vehicle to perform legitimate aerial photography for various commercial purposes that would currently...

Oregon Senate Bill 71 would ban FPV flying and "drones"

Clearly you don't follow politics very much. Ever heard Maxine Waters speak? (Better yet, go to any city council meeting in almost any town and you'll will quickly be disabused of that silly notion).

Wasn't mocking, in fact that was the exact point I was making in my first post. However, I don't know what regulations there are that affect full-size aircraft which could easily be carrying someone with a camera and long lens giving the same results.

    So it begins....

I think I probably agree that in general, and that extant "window peeping" laws should be the general idea (with some fly over restrictions for safety). I can't really figure out what the difference is between photographing people from a high-rise window, roof or full sized aircraft and...

There is clearly potential for abuse, but then I would consider London's use of pole mounted surveillance cameras a bit abusive too. Will clearly be need for some form of regulation at least as far as safety and privacy concerns go.

Y6 versus Hexacopter....... Advantages one over the other? Chime in!!

Very cool, Have you considered putting a still camera on a tripod and setting the shutter on bulb while you do a night flight like that? You could even use a hand held photostrobe to shoot a couple of "stills" during the long exposure. Could produce some interesting images.

Last Minute Questions Before Hitting BUY

To begin with, I think you mean "Dude", and in fact, I have added both of those links to my bookmark folder, however, there is LOTS of misc content on this forum, some VERY valuable, some, well, ............not so much. All I was saying was that it would be nice to have an expeditious way to...

    Really Dumb TX question

Hey Danub & Viper! Thanks for the replies. Indeed, the tx does beep when I move the slider. Unfortunately, the tx I have doesn't have an LCD screen, so no values there. Concerning the gyro, the question there is to reduce drift, so I want it to be more sensitive or less sensitive? Thanks

Last Minute Questions Before Hitting BUY

The links that mitsaras and kloner posted are both very helpful. There needs to be someway to collect links like these and put them somewhere they can be accessed by folks looking for that type of info without having to read through dozens of threads possibly with dozens of replies before the...

    Really Dumb TX question

As an introduction to multi-copters and RC in general I bought a Walkera Ladybird. I have no experience flying anything other than a little toy co-axial hilo. The instructions for the Ladybird are a bit cryptic (to put it mildly). In the instruction manual, they label the right stick as the...
