Tarot 680 Pro integrated PDB failure - major smoke!

Buy one of the older 810 folding frames, and if you really, really, just gotta have a 680, chop off the arms a little. Eliminates the PDB frame plate. Another option is don't use the PDB arrangement and install a central PWB under everything. Tarot is not the only one that has experienced...

    New!! Tilt Drone

Perhaps another idea is to build camera rigs with tilt technology. Use a PWM drive system to control directional tilt. This might provide considerable efficiency improvements. I was looking at this for awhile but all the engineers I know have conflict of interest limitations.

who's into some heavy aerial mapping?

Deep diving the books for that farm would likely reveal they had reduced the number of farm laborer s they were employing, which reduced the field inspections. Up side of that may be a good sell in allowing a reduction in staff that was offset in coverage and having a lower cost using aerial...

Dromida Kodo will not take off

I've experienced similar with a Dromida. It may well be the motors need replaced or there are some damaged gears in the drives. Easy to correct. Some of the smaller toy quads have press on props, and if pressed on too hard, bind on top of the frame/ motors.

Spoke to Chuck, sending phone number in a PM later today. Can't do that from my phone.

    Urgent, need 8K aerial footage.

Av8Chuck would be the first person I would think of for this. He's active in both MR and other wrist cinema operations. Unfortunately his computer and this site haven't been getting along.

Regardless of who it was, the incident stresses a need for operator training that would better serve safe flight operations. As much as I abhor the pilot's license requirement of the 333 process, having one helps establish the "pilot" possesses a reasonable level of judgement. Few...

who's into some heavy aerial mapping?

You'd be surprised how much tech farmers are already using. I had some discussions with local cherry, pear, and apple farmers in my area about the use of multirotors or other aerial assets and to a man they agreed they currently know the cost of working their land to within $0.75/acre/season...

Big deal in West Hollywood. Some outfit flying an Inspire chasing a Mini for a reality show parked the Inspire on the power lines, shorting the area out, shutting down businesses AND downing the power lines, draping them over the Mini, which smoked in short order. Made the evening news, even...

Dromida Kodo will not take off

The Dromida stuff isn't really high performance in any way. Fun and pretty durable, but not high end. They work, work pretty darn well for the price point, but in general more or less built on a minimalist approach. That would also likely include the props where thrust and efficiency is...

who's into some heavy aerial mapping?

Those I am aware of doing it are performing with full scale, slow flying aircraft, and tech colleges serving the agricultural market with heavy government support. It's hard to conduct a business against someone that's receiving government funding for their operational expenses. My thoughts...

From my perspective there's no shrugging at all, the major aerospace players are still developing the rules THEY will be operating by, which in turn will be the rules the FAA instills on everyone else. At the executive levels our government agencies are not inept, but they do not establish the...

A new marketplace for us all

Perhaps I've just become more suspicious of everything as I've become older, but I can't help but think of this type of "service" as a means of obtaining video material that's without any kind of copyright protection and use it as it without much benefit to those providing it. Even with a...

    "Drone" Radio Live....Launching Oct 28th!

More like 15 minutes. DJI has an "own the world" mentality. However, it costs $$ to make these things work so it's just part of the cost of doing business. An up side has it a potential for such a sponsor to improve their business model. Great concept with the radio show for sure, and a...
