Replace gopro3 lens to reduce fisheye distortion or can video-editing software do it?

That may be your definition of "semi-pro" but it's every genuine professional's definition of PITA amateur competition skewing clients' pricing expectations and generally making it harder to earn a decent living in the field :) With respect, I think you need to learn about photography before...

    Large spark from XT90 connectors

I suspect for the same reason as you chose XT90s - the wires fit in the holes in the back :). IMHO bullet connectors are the invention of the devil. They are conveniently compact for motor to ESC wires so long as you heat-shrink them together. I believe they are a poor connector for any other...

    Large spark from XT90 connectors

    They are XT150 connectors, I think. http://www.modelhelicopters.co.uk/news/2012/11/ruk-xt15010-xt150-type-connector-pair-10-pack/ - 6mm soldered bullets.

    New Sony A7.

Fascinating to hear these opinions based on honest-to-goodness working experience. Thank you. Returning to the A7 - it strikes me as a potential candidate for the best all-rounder yet offered. Light, great lenses, top-notch stills and very handy video including 60p. Outside of playing B-cam in...

    Large spark from XT90 connectors

You can certainly bend a wire 180 degrees - it's not the angle that's important but the radius of that bend. Remember that everything on the craft will be subjected to vibration - one of the two "killers" of electrical systems (the other being heat). Vibration and heat have a nasty habit of...

    Large spark from XT90 connectors

The issue is the length of wire you leave between the ESC and the solder pad - just leave a bit more so the cable can "loop" gently rather than need to be folded over hard like the one(s) in that picture. If you have the board in front of you, can you measure the +/- pads? 10AWG multistrand...

Carbon Fiber Props Deteriorating ~ Failing

Have you seen this thesis - http://www.eng.yale.edu/pep5/P_Pounds_Thesis_2008.pdf ? - he built teetering hubs but IIRC they didn't work well. (mind you, IMHO nothing on that project worked well ;))

    12V BEC for 6s?

The Castle Creations CC BEC Pro: http://www.castlecreations.com/products/ccbec.html - not cheap but good quality and reliable - you'll also need their USB programmer. :)

    Large spark from XT90 connectors

It will vary depending on the construction and the insulation material/thickness. It should be quoted by the manufacturer but I've never seen any such specs for the noddy noodles stuff from China. It's most usually quoted as a multiple of the outer diameter, e.g. "10 x dia", so 6mm diameter...

    Large spark from XT90 connectors

Nice machine :) Nothing wrong with bullets for the ESC to motor connections as long as you heat shrink over them (i.e. you have to cut the outer heatshrink off to separate the connection) - simple insurance. So you want to fly with about 12000mAh? That rig is going to run about 25A per motor...

    Large spark from XT90 connectors

Yeah - sorry about the distraction, Quinton. We're all in a muddle now because somebody diverted the thread somewhat. I asked originally about the need for a 90A-rated connector because of the implication that your rig was actually expecting to pass 90A through it, which will easily occur if...

    Flight time

Plenty of people have stretched it beyond 60+ minutes but the physics is working against you - the limiting factor being the weight of the stored energy (batteries) that you carry into the air - "law of diminishing returns", etc. The military use some tethered machines as observation platforms -...

    Large spark from XT90 connectors

If it makes you feel better, bart - I'm "obsessed" with every flight-critical component, not just connectors. I didn't question his choice of connector - I was enquiring as to why he would need any connector rated at "90+ amps" on a multirotor. The implication was that the wiring would be...
