    Wookong-M on a Y6

Quick update, the former Y6 now hex is pretty much as dialed in as it's going to get with the current state of the firmware and actually it's doing pretty good! Now that I've flown the Nex 5N on it I just can't seem to go back to the GoPros which is probably just as well since the mount works...

    It's contest time again!!

Yeah, I'd like to see a freestyle whatever you want to do to entertain us as long as it involves a flying multirotor video kind of thing, that way the less experienced can use creativity instead of flying skill to level the playing field. Call it 'dances with wind' video competition... Ken

    Sony Nex 5n test flight.

From the above post of the manual contents... "• You cannot use [Remote Cdr.] with the following functions: – Movie recording" If the remote can't do it the GentLED can't either. Ken

Yes, manual yaw. Thing I like the most about WKM is unlike the MK the platform stays level when the sideways motion begins and it stays level through the entire 360 degrees. With either of my MK there's the initial tilt when it starts to turn, levels out for a large part of the spin, and then...

360 degree pan, Wookong-m controller, Sony Nex 5N w/16mm wide angle lens. Without a doubt the best pan I've ever been able to do with a multirotor aircraft. looking forward to doing more when I get a chance to get the WKM out in the field... Ken

Any particular reason why you have the roll cradle reversed like that? Ken

    Nex 5N flys on WKM

Not yet but getting there. In a way its almost like doing PID tuning on an MK only its called gain settings and they're no where near as complex and non-intuitive as the MK setup is. For that vid I pretty much took the 5N out of the box, charged the batt, put a mem card in, and bolted it to...

    Camera suggestions

No, standard FPV video TX can't do HD resolution, they pretty much max out at 640 x 480 on the better ones, cheap ones even less. You would have to set the camera to much lower resolution which then might turn off the HDMI port, kind of defeats the purpose. Only way you can transmit HDMI is with...

    Camera suggestions

Easiest thing to do is just use a standard FPV camera and video TX, there isn't any cheap, compact, and/or easy way to do HDMI for FPV yet. Now that I have a Nex 5N I'll be putting my FPV camera and video TX on the camera platform as my "viewfinder" for the 5N, doesn't take up much room at all...

Ok, this is very weird. Are DJI and Xaircraft the same?

It appears to be someones blog site, this site looks more "official" http://www.xaircraft.com/ DJI can do Octo and X8 in the latest firmware release but you'll need to use Futaba SBus to be able to do 8 motors and control a camera mount. Ken

    Nex 5N flys on WKM

Late this afternoon the weather cleared up enough to get a quick test flight of the Sony Nex 5N on my Wookong-M hex. This is the first time I've put the camera in the air and only the second time I've actually used it after it being delivered around 6:30 PM yesterday. The 1080P 60FPS looks...

    Mikrokopter Hunting down RFI problems

Yesterday I took the AD6 off the shelf where its been parked while I've been playing around witrh the WKM hex, wanted to give it a test flight and make sure everything is good to go before putting the Nex 5N on it. Got off the ground and first thing I noticed was a strong tendency to yaw back...

Rendering with Adobe Premier, you've got to be kidding me!

I started this thread back in March, the demo has long since expired as has the computer it was running on. I guess I can't complain that computer gave great service for close to 6 years. In any case the replacement is much bigger, better, faster, etc, etc. I never did warm up to Adobe so I...

    Sony Nex 5n test flight.

My 5N should be here tomorrow and no the clicking will not bother me at all because I won't be able to hear it from ground level...:p I know its not perfect but I think for what I intend to use it for the NEX 5N is a pretty good compromise. I get 60P video at a higher resolution than I can...

    WKM Build Problems

Understood but that goes against what I'm seeing. In the mode you describe when the throttle stick is at its lowest point the motors should be spinning slower than at mid stick because that is where it would be to descend quickly and therefore the motors necessarily needed to be spinning much...

    WKM Build Problems

Yes there is something weird in the way the motors initally spin up fast then slow a bit then seem to settle down to a more normal speed with the 3.2 software, I don't think its directly related to the gain settings although it could be. It does appear that the IMU needs to start flying after...

    WKM Build Problems

Your main problem is the failsafe setting of the Tx and RX. When you bind the RX it notes the positions of all control sticks and when it loses TX signal it will use those settings. If you did the bind with the throttle stick all the way down, thats what its going to use when you go into...

    Response time ESCs PWM

Couple things here, first I believe the problems with the WKM and wobbling have little to do with the ESCs in use and a lot to do with their firmware and the priority they give to keeping the multi in the same spot both horizontally and vertically. To do that requires the controller to be very...

    DJI Support

DJI has what appear to be support people doing some replies to the RCG thread. There are some issues at the moment that will eventually get resolved (I hope) that prevent it from being a good all around APV platform. I have been doing extensive testing and so far have used the WKM on a MK...
