    Wookong-M wind stability

No, I have a pair of AV130, one old and one new, that I swap around between the WKM and Droidword MK hex. Today I managed to get out and fly in open space with the WKM and Nex 5N for the first time, you can see the video here...

Show what you filmed - Post Your Video Here

The Wookong-M hex finally got to fly someplace other than my backyard today, brought the Sony Nex 5N along to try the two together for some real video for a change. Here's the first try at doing a decent video with this combo, best viewed @ 720P if you have the bandwidth for it. Looks really...

    Wookong-M on a RC-Carbon 900 mm boom

It's taken quite a while to understand the tuning capabilities of the WKM and in the beginning it didn't work quite so well on large and heavy frames with the default settings. Initially I had it on a testbed MK quad frame and it performed brilliantly in that configuration regardless of...

    Wookong-M wind stability

You should remove the red wire if you use the power module. I received mine but haven't installed it yet, not having any heat problems with the BEC circuits on the ESCs so no rush. I want to do some rewiring when I do install it, probably save it for a rainly day project, or now that its October...

    hexa / Y6 motor redudancy

The only proven configurations that can withstand loss of a motor in flight are the flat octo, and the coaxial Y6 and X8. On a standard flat hex in certain circumstances it may be possible to land successfully on loss of a motor but that assumes a light enough weight that 5 motors can sustain...

    Wookong-M on a RC-Carbon 900 mm boom

The ESC heat problem as it applies to the WKM controller lies with the BEC circuit and not in motor driver circuit. There have been reports by some people that the BEC circuitry has gotten hot enough to melt the shrink wrap on the ESC. With the recent release of the power module for the WKm...

    Wookong-M wind stability

I never did get the Y6 very close to dialed in and I'm not sure the flat hex settings would apply. You might start with basic gains of 200% for pitch and roll, 250 for yaw and 200 for altitude. The Attitude gains need to go down, I'm currently around 70% and that's probably a bit too high still...

    Wookong-M wind stability

It's taken a while to get things dialed in but I finally have the WKM hex pretty close to as good as it can be in windy conditions. I did the first one late yesterday and the other this morning in variable wind, getting much better overall though I probably wouldn't fly in winds too much heavier...

    Mikrokopter WOW! So Judge This

Just got a chance to give it a go in daylight, completely different machine! I'm using vario A/H and in dead calm air it flys very much like the WKM on default settings. I suspect though that the MK is going to suffer the same problems as the WKM in gusty wind, it will twitch and wobble as the...

    Waypoint flight

Yes, once the route is loaded take off with GPS switch in the off or free position, as soon as you move the switch to come home the route starts. If you move the switch off the come home position it cancels the route and it cannot be restarted without reloading the coordinates, basically...

    Alternative and/or cheap motor options

I've had the same problem on some cheap motors, not that big of a deal to fix. Cut the heatshrink off the bullet connector, wipe the wire and connector with some denatured alcohol to get any slippery stuff off then reheatshrink with good quality tubing, preferrably the kind with the adhesive...

    Mikrokopter WOW! So Judge This

Determined to fix much weirdness with the way my MK AD6 was flying I pulled all of the electronics off of it last night and started by rebuilding the PDB without provision for the I2C isolator board, the BLs are now wired direct to C and D connections and the long servo wire leads are gone as is...

    Waypoint flight

It's not very difficult but you will need the tool that converts a Google earth map into one with GPS coordinates in it to use in the OSD screen of MKtool, it's how you translate points into coordinates that the GPS understands. I have a write up on how to do it somewhere in the terrabyte and a...

    Gopro lens

You can use the Sunex lens with the housing, just take the glass lens off the case. If you want to keep the lens and use the Sunex I've seen someone making an adpator that goes between the case and lens. If you know someone who has a metal lathe the adpator can be made from a chunk of Delrin...

    Mikrokopter Testing Servo Outputs

Would make a nice FPV quad with an I2C converter, add Navi and GPS and never worry about being able to find your way back, just click come home... Ken

    Mikrokopter Testing Servo Outputs

For the cost of one of those boards if the vendor you bought it from won't help, I'd at the very least send it back to Germany for repair, got to be less $ than tossing it aside and buying another. Ken

Distribution Board for Okto with Mk BL, NEW ?

Actually with the BL 2.0 it doesn't matter, you can change direction in the BL software. You could wire them all the same way and then just go into MKtool and reverse as needed. Ken

Mikrokopter Motor start issues and motor loss in flight on X8???

You'll need this... http://www.mdtweb.de/images/stories/downloads/MK_GPX_0016.zip and the .GPX file from the memory card. Probably won't tell you what's wrong though as it only logs from take off onward. What you need to do is hookup to MKtool and try to start the motors with the tool running...

    Wookong-M on a Y6

I have tested it actually although I'm using the hover mode rather than RTH at the moment. If I flip the switch to failsafe it just stays where it is, when I click back to manual it releases and I get control back. I think if I waited long enough it would also autoland in hover mode, don't know...
