    New WKM firmware available

Good question, it's not called that in the software, it's labeled "Disturbed Gain" under Advanced settings. It doesn't say much in the manual other than use that parameter if you can't find the right basic gain settings and do not use this setting without payload. Would have been nice if they at...

    New WKM firmware available

There is currently no way to do that other than take screen shots or write down all of the settings so you can re-enter them. Some firmware updates wiped the settings in the controller, others haven't, you don't know which will happen so make sure to capture them one way or another. Ken

    Ouch!

I look at a multi with spinning props the same way I do a hot soldering iron, never try to catch one and stop it from falling, just let it go and clean up the mess afterward it will hurt a lot less. Ken

    Wookong power up??

You can plug the components together on the bench and power it by plugging a receiver Nicad pack (or any other 4.8 volt power source you might have) into any of the motor ports, I did exactly that when I was testing GPS lock times, will also work for software updates. If you just make sure of...

Show Your WooKong M Videos HERE

Ok then, I'll start with the very first time I flew the Y6 with GoPro on board all the way up to the most recent flight with the quad. First time I flew with a camera was on September 2... A couple days later as I was getting more comfortable with the Y6... Trying to figure out...

WKM Quad and RC Carbon GoPro mount

I've just spent the last three days tweaking, tuning, and rebuilding on WKM #2, a 580mm quad using an MK Frame, Flycam motors, Graupner 10 x 5 props, and the RC Carbon landing gear and 2 axis GoPro mount, a flying box of mismatched parts if there ever was one! Much of the time spent was on...

    WooKong M Driver Download

You need to measure from the actual center of gravity on the Z axis. Where that is will depend on what you have under the quad or more specifically how much weight you have below the lower centerplate, the greater the weight the lower the CG will be. To start with you can assume the CG to be...

    Mounting tape

The round disks that come with the WKM are just double sided tape, there's no cushion to it. Gyro tape or foam tape has some cushion so vibration doesn't get through, the Gaui mounting tape is far too soft, it needs to be a bit firmer for the WKM IMU. Ken

    Mounting tape

Use the double sided tape for the gyro and use something like servo tape for the IMU. Ken

    Dji wk-w

Now are you beginning to understand what all the buzz is about on this controller? :) Quite a difference from an MK isn't it... Ok batteries are charged, back to playing arorund with my WKM Quad! Ken

    Droiders WMK Quad

I've been re-engineering the RC Carbon GoPro mount for the past two days while its been pouring down rain here. Today is finally sunny but VERY windy, I know the big hex can handle it but I'm not so sure about the much lighter quad. I want to get out and continue dialing in the gain settings as...

Lense advice for Sony NEX 5

I bought my 5N as a package deal from B&P Photo in NYC, you can add the 16mm lens for $99 when buying the NEX through I think mid-Novemeber, regular price is either $250 or $350 I forget which they list on their site. I used the 16mm once and since have been using the 18 - 55 that comes with the...

    Mikrokopter Nav Board USB connection

It isn't really a USB connection, it's where they plug in the magic smoke machine when they build the boards! Being in the UK perhaps you can find an old Lucas Electrics smoke machine to replenish the supply in your boards if they let the magic smoke out. Lucas equipment used to do it on a...

    HeyHey from Rhode Island!

Hello from southern Massachusetts, good to have you onboard! I've spent a lot of time in New Hampshire and know a good part of the state like it was my own neighborhood, plenty of places to go with a multi and get some good stills and videos, one of these days I'll have to make a trip back up...

    Wookong-M wind stability

That's no south African rain forest, that's my backyard! Actually it's the wetlands that sit behind my backyard between this neighborhood and the main road over on the other side of the swamp, sometimes I find it hard to believe this is on the edge of a heavily developed major metropolitan area...

    Wookong-M wind stability

I've just spent the last 2 hours installing the Savox servo on the tilt axis of the mount. A lot of that time was spent "fixing" some build quality issues that needed attention before this mount was ever going to work right. Little things like the aluminum standoff that holds the top and bottom...

    Wookong-M wind stability

Yes, true but unfortunate. CC is a noble project but from what I've seen it will never be a dominant force in the world of RC. They just do not have the infrastructure or resources to allow it to be something that can be relied on to work 100% of the time as it would need to be for commercial...
