Naza acting weird. Crashed my 3500 dollar setup with naza gps today

I've had lockouts, typically the quad just freezes in place provided the failsafe is correctly setup, I've never had one just take off on its own due to lockout. With the Naza and a lockout if you do nothing to regain the connection between TX and RX it will RTH with GPS or just land if there is...

Naza acting weird. Crashed my 3500 dollar setup with naza gps today

I doubt that its related to the assistant software upgrade. I've had similar problems over the last two weeks on three different quads with three different flight controller systems, the only thing in common was the outside temperature was right around freezing when it happened to each one. My...

    GoPro 3

Tim @ Getfpv.com should have them available in his shop soon in addition to the layerlens he already sells for the previous generation GoPros. Ken

KK Flight Controller New Forum! KK flight controllers

I've been flying the KK since the days when you had to assemble the board yourself from a shopping list of components and then program the chip, its come a long way since then. I have the KK2.0 on the Tricopter I just built and I have to say on the 1.4 firmware it does fly nice in either manual...

Could I trouble one or more of you experienced pilots to help educate me a bit??

Not all lipo batteries are manufactured to the same quality standards, as a general rule of thumb you should not discharge them beyond the point that they take 80% of their rated capacity to recharge. Some of the better batteries can tolerate discharging to 90% more times than a cheap pack but...

    FC 2,1 gimbal stabilization ?

It's a Mikrokopter flight controller board with modified firmware to make it into a gimbal only controller. The basic gimbal stabilization on the MK board works but does have some well documented issues with keeping the horizon level when panning or moving sideways, don't know how much of that...

Just tried a collective pitch heli...

That's what I've read and what the marketing material says... "Naza-H is suitable for a variety of electric helicopter platforms from small to large, such as 450, 500, 600 and 700 size, etc." It would probably work to some degree on nonelectric but knowing that DJI stuff tends to have issues...

    The Ultimate DJI 450...

Depending on how much weight it will be lifting you could use iPower 2217-Q or if you need a lot of lift the 2814-Q with a set of 30amp ESCs reflashed with SimonK firmware. I've found APC thin electric props to be very good performers on the DJI stuff, very similar blade profile to Graupner but...

Just tried a collective pitch heli...

Not entirely sure of all the WKH capabilities but I believe the Naza-H is a WKH lite in the same way a Naza-M is a WKM lite. From what I've read so far it's basically a flybarless controller/tail gyro combo that can also do autolevel and GPS position hold. The good news for those of us that...

FPV Displays - Using A Laptop

I tried somehting like that way back when I was first getting into FPV. Thing I found was the laptop has to be something more than a Netbook with an Atom processor for it to be of any use to actually fly with. A fast multi-core processor with a lot of ram and the best graphics capability...

    QAV500 FPV quad

Haven't abandoned it, I still fly it though house related projects have been consuming most of my non-work time lately. That, the early sunset, and the fact that we're now into the cold weather flying season have greatly reduced my stick time lately. Since the last update I did to it, the QAV...

    Best alternative to Naza? Arducopter?

Another alternative is the current generation of MultiWii Mega boards with the 2.1 firmware release. A sensor upgrade along with the newest firmware has tightened up the performance of these boards and the ATTI, Autolevel, and GPS position hold all work. No they aren't as locked in as a Naza but...

    Team Blacksheep Discovery build

As the heli guys say, "if you aren't crashing you aren't learning". A sim is ok for practice but at some point you have to get out in the field and actually do it, not all flight controllers flip or roll well, flying fast between trees brings its own risk. Flying out in wide open space where...

Funny my vids look exactly the opposite, the GoPro live feed looks like your lawmate/pixim, and my pixim setup looks like your GoPro. Operating environment has a lot to do with it, last time out there were patches of snow at the field from the nor'easter we had right after hurricane Sandy...

Naza GPS unit replaceable with common USB-GPS?

Likely not possible, DJI uses a CANbus connection system and the software is closed so there's no way to know exactly how the GPS talks to the Naza to be able to even try using anything else. Even the Wookong-M GPS isn't compatible with Naza or the Naza with Wookong, pretty obvious they did that...

    Tricopter Frame Kits?

I'm using 1.4 at the moment, got it fairly well dialed in right now on the KK, just playing around with different props to see what effect that has. This thing reminds me a lot of flying a SRH and yes the autolevel does work but it seems weird using it on the Tri. Do you have the download link...

iPower motors are larger, ESCs all have heatsinks, GoPro has battery backpack installed, EZOSD has more and larger bits than the core. Camera I'm using is 5 volt and powered from the Immersion vtx which I also have the 500mw 2.4 version of for when I want to change to the long range setup. The...
