    First FPV setup, f450

Just about any of them will work fine with a 600mW vTX on a multi. As long as the receiver you use has the right antenna setup you can't fly far enough away with a multi for the video link to be a problem, you'll run out of radio range on 2.4 gHz before you outrun the video link. I have a...

Using DJI F550 Kit to put on another Hexa (CarbonCore)

As long as you keep the weight within the range of what the F550 could handle then there's no reason why it won't work. I've used all of the stock DJI electronics on my TBS Discovery frames and it's worked just as well as any of the DJI F series, better actually... That said the DJi motors are...

This could be a game changer

I have flown those and still have several gathering dust on the shelf. One of the big disadvantages is the inertia built up in those large carbon fiber rotor blades, takes a while to slow or stop and that could quite literally be deadly in the event something goes horribly wrong with people...

Send me a copy of 1.5 and I'll give it a go on my Cinestar 6/AV130. So far it's working quite well with the 1.2 as long as I fly smoothly as in this GoPro3 test vid, would be nice to be able to just fly and not worry about how the gimbal will respond... Ken

This could be a game changer

I've seen experimental code for variable pitch multi setups on Kk and Multiwii boards. If I get really bored this winter I may have a go at building one. All you would need besides the board with firmware is 4 servos, a set of motors with long shafts, 4 appropriate RC Heli tailrotor setups, and...

Hoverfly (Gen 1) HoverFly Pro - DPCAV Low Pass filter - Where to get?

You can get the filter here... http://www.dpcav.com/xcart/Power-Supply-Filter-L-C-Type.html You can power the board without it for setup, just DO NOT try to fly without it, the chance of a board reset and resulting crash is high. Ken

    Show your FPV video

As good as the QAV500 is for low altitude the TBS Discovery is better if you really want to get down in the weeds... :) This was my TBS Disco #2, #1 is in the process of getting some "upgrades" and moving from a Naza to Multiwii Mega flight controller. Ken

    fatshark camera pinout

I have one but I'm just about to walk out the door to go to a family get together. If you don't have the answer by the time I get back later this afternoon I'll ohm mine out and let you know the pinout. Ken Someone is running late getting ready so I had a chance to check my cable... from the...

    Show your FPV video

Got a chance to do some flying yesterday morning in temps that were barely above freezing (34 degrees F), won't be long before we see snow here I think! I'm off work for the holidays through January 2nd starting this coming Friday 12/21, if the Mayans were wrong and the world doesn't end on...

TBS Discoveries now available in the states

HeliDirect is starting to ramp up on multirotor stuff, nice for me as they're close enough to drive over there and pickup my order, mucho bad for the wallet though... ;) Ken

Licenses to shoot commercial AP and AV in the US?

Actually that's pretty clear for official FAA/government documentation, some of the other things I have links to are far worse. The FAQ link spells it out fairly well, you can fly for hobby use under 400 feet altitude, line of sight. Anything else falls under research and development or public...

    Anyone notice the videos?

I noticed right away, it messed up the way the page displays on a tablet. You may want to look into reducing them to thumbnail size until clicked on or stacking them so it doesn't reduce the size of everything else on the page when viewed with non-PC devices. Ken

    Hoverfly Pro vs Sport

Correct, no auto level, just basic fight plus low level altitude hold via ultrasonic sensor which more or less limits it to a couple meters from the ground or indoors usage. I never bought sensor for mine so I never tried the AH, also only flew it outdoors so it would have had limited usefulness...

    Hoverfly Pro vs Sport

I have a H/F Sport board, it's not as small as you might think, I last had it in a DJI F330 frame and it was fairly tight fit. It is on the other hand smaller than the Pro board. The firmware has 3 modes you set the board to, from aerobatic to APV, while its much tamer in APV it's not in the...

Licenses to shoot commercial AP and AV in the US?

You can do pretty much anything you want as long as it's a "hobby", the minute you take any amount of cash, even a penny, then it's commercial and not allowed, so says the FAA. The reality is there have been a lot of cease and desist letters sent out by the FAA to people that have been...

    Photohigher skyline rsgs

My AV130 seems perfectly happy getting servo power through the Skyline so I see no need to complicate the setup by separating out the power for the servos and for the Skyline though it would be easy to do with the two power leads on the CC Pro. Just make sure to not feed the Skyline anything...

    FPV gear advice

Try removing the lens/screen the sticker was on! I tried them without the sticker and had a big problem with that plastic lens fogging up in the cold, pulled both of them out and problem solved. I might have gone the route of a better RX module but the big issue for me is the fixed screen...

    Photohigher skyline rsgs

I have a CC BEC Pro set to 6.0 volts powering the Skyline and servos from the main power distribution board and it works well. Some people use a separate battery and that also works just as well, the main thing you DON'T want to do is power the Skyline from a feed off either the flight...

    FPV gear advice

I would suggest not getting the Dominators, go for the newer Attitude series. I have both and the Attitude are a much better set of goggles, the built in RX has a lot better range than the module for the Dominator, the screen resolution is better, and the interpupillary distance is adjustable on...
