Hoverfly Max wind you Fly with your Octos

DJI doesnt like winds. MK was the best in winds. Hoverfly in manual is pretty damn good in wind and the auto level is greatly improved in wind.

    Mikrokopter MK or DJI....

Skip them both and try the hoverfly pro.

Hoverfly Max wind you Fly with your Octos

I know my winds really well and I would say above 15 and you just have to push forward too much to get any useable footage. With the Hoverfly Pro i can avoid the wobbles that DJI had but still a fight. 10mph is max for pro results. On my X8i can handle about 20 but again, not useable buttery...

    Ready Made RC or FOxtechFPV?

I think foxtech is in China, Readymade is here in the states. i have bought all my stuff from readymade. He is relatively quick on the replies and for the most part helpful. I bought my 7" monitor from foxtech but only because our resident Kloner recommended them.

    little O/T, Zephyr ZII FPV

I am about to pull the trigger on my Z2 as i got a local guy who flies on the beach outside our place and it is making me really want to join him up there. I have flown zagis years ago and i do remember just how fast and agile these were. Here's some more questions for you all mighty one: 1...

    Is this really new?

Maybe the patent is related to the fact it flies on a wifi network? http://www.patentlyapple.com/patently-apple/2012/09/hon-hai-invents-unmanned-aerial-vehicle-control-system-for-security-surveillance.html

Nothing special, just the Bart'O copter XY8 model identifier XY8FS700c. I think it's possible Bart and I are the only ones with the XY8 configuration but I am really impressed with everything about it. Crap, what was I typing? that damn Carl's Jr. commercial just came on with those 2 hot...

Hoverfly HFP firm for larger multirotors

I dont know the answer to the firmware differences but i think the conversation of prop pitch has been thoroughly addressed. When you get into pitches around 8 and above you just have too much bite for things to react smoothly. I dont know if it is a cavitation issue or what but if you think...

iCharger 306B --> powered by car?

Yeah, i figured it wasnt a great idea. I always feel like I am going to damage that plug and short something out by pulling it out wrong. But it is what it is and not really a big deal.

Axis and tigers are definitely not the same motors. I know there are 4 or 5 other names that are using them but these are no where near identical to a T-motor. They are supposed to be made in the Czech republic.

I am using tigers now and they are fine. but they are still chinese and that equates to higher failure rate in my mind. Yeah, i dont know how the 2826/12 works at 710kv but I would imagine with the right props it should be just fine. They dont say they take more than 5s though. Seems like...

No tigers if i do it its AXI. Yeah, I agree and I will as soon as i get a paying gig that uses it. It does get nerve racking with all that money fighting gravity.

iCharger 306B --> powered by car?

maybe not the best place to post this but... I am just curious if you need the balance leads if you are not balance charging. I was told you only need to balance charge the lipos every few charges. I realize the charger probably wont be able to tell me individual cell voltages but does it...

I went the route of the Hovergimbal as well and have to say it is a weight off my shoulders to not have to keep looking to this thread for answers. Good luck to all of you diehards that seem content with the challenge. I'm sure one day it will be dialed in. I just hope PH hasnt lost their rep...

    FS700 shots

Yeah, i forgot about the efficiency and heat factor. That is big. I could probably still use my 40 amp esc's on 6s with the larger motors. there is certainly no issue with actually lifting the camera at all. It will lift twice that. But the whole idea is to have the heli fly comfortably at...

    FS700 shots

Why do you say that? I dont disagree but I'm curious what your reason is. The heli we used on Gymkhana was a massive 25lb hex running 12000 mah on 6s. but i would think a heli with an AUW of 15-16 lbs could be lifted by 4s on some 14" props just fine. I have to say I am still a little...

I am using the av200 with the XY8 config. But I will bump the motor up a notch from the 2814's when it happens. The weight with battery and a 50 prime was a little over 5 lbs. if I remember correctly.
